“Worth a visit”
Review of Salmon Holes

Salmon Holes
Reviewed March 2, 2014

As pointed out by other visitors, the climb down the steps is relatively easy compared to the hike back up them. The beach is pristine but drop off is steep and the current reasonable strong so I would not recommend the beach for inexperienced swimmers. We thought the beach was worth a visit but this area is blessed with many others that are easier to reach and are just as pretty and a lot safer for swimming.

This is a very beautiful beach but not safe for swimming (unfortunately - as the waves looked very welcoming.) There are strong currents and a steep drop off. On the day we visited there were many blue bottles on the beach

The long walk down to the salmon holes comprises of 72 steps and approx. 800 metres each way. There is no warning that the elderly/disabled/children might find it taxing. Finally got to the bottom and did not see the salmon holes. The view was lovely, but definitely not worth the long walk. The Gap and Natural Bridge are definitely worth visiting though -- short walk and absolutely spectacular!

A beautiful place to visit...water is blue, sky is blue with heavy wind...you just feel completely fresh......

Another Beautiful part of the Western Australian Coast!

Salmon Holes is a great little exposed cove on the southern side of the Flinders Peninsula near Frenchman Bay and if you're heading to Whale World don't miss the opportunity to take an easy walk across the peninsula and take in the view!!
