“Humbled”

I visited the Albany Wind Farm in August with my cousin & his friend. The farm is a must-visit. The walks are spectacular. They wind around the place running parallel to the coast line at times. The strong wind can chill your bones; so a light woolen is advisable. The various walking tracks are not strenuous. The majestic windmills will completely humble you. The place is pleasantly silent, with only the sound of the sea & the gentle rotating blades of the mill. It is a great place for photography & for people who are looking for solace. We caught a glimpse of a painter who was capturing the beauty of the sea on canvas. Truly, creativity can run high here...

Well worth stopping here and looking around. The walks are fantastic and suitable for the whole family- maybe a few steps to climb up and down if you want to walk part of the Bibbuilman Track which passes through nearby.

In summer take caution as snakes may be about.

“It blows! In a good way”

This is an amazing place to visit...it's a short walk around but worth the drive to see the immense power of the blades. There should be more of this clean energy in the world.

“Impressive”

Great to get up close to these giants and learn about how they work and how fast those blades are actually moving! There is a great walk through the heath with a couple of lookouts and plenty of photo opportunities looking along the coast with the waves crashing on the beaches below.

“A pretty sight that generates clean energy”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

A walk in the wind farm is a must-do, you learn something about wind turbines and the air is super clean and fresh. The trail cuts into the lush green coastal vegetation (no shade though, there are no trees here) and finally descends to the coast via a series of steps. Climbing up requires a certain amount of fitness but you can always rest at many of the platforms along the steps for the under-fit. People were fishing wild salmon on the coast. Wild kangaroo sighting is sometimes included so remember to bring a camera. The sea is beautiful to watch from trail and for the adventurous, there is a paragliding launch pad en-route.
