This location is beautiful but it is not as developed so much harder to see and get around in a car on rough dirt roads. But that meant that there were less people around - more rugged wilderness and high cliff lines

Beautiful white sandy beaches, fantastic views from the Cape, a mix of tall forest, aqua coloured water, pristine beaches, fantastic picnic area, and even a hang-gliding launch ramp off the cliff.

A visit to West Cape Howe National Park, while staying in Albany, starts from Torbay Hill just a few kilometres from the City and is only accessible by four wheeled drive vehicles. That hill into the park and heading towards the coast is an adrenaline rush in itself, very steep and littered with boulders. The going can be very slow! On arrival at the parking area the scene is magnificent. Camera enthusiasts will delight in taking pictures of the wild wind- swept countryside, ancient rock formations and the ever wild foaming sea. The park coast line is about 20kms in length and stretches from Torbay Hill in a westerly direction towards Denmark. A visitors length of stay will depend on interests because there are plenty of options. Snorkelling at Shelley Beach, hang gliding from the rugged cliffs or more leisurely and less demanding pursuits along the pristine silver sand. Take plenty of pictures, give yourself plenty of time and your enjoyment will be plentiful.
