We were looking for a farmstay in Albany and chanced upon Greenfield farmstay in the tripadvisor review. Having read the positive review, we decided to give it a try although there was only one review on it. We did the booking via emails and Dave was very promot with the replies.
When we arrived, our first impression was " WOW " . The house looked really nice and the garden was very pretty and lovely with blooming flowers. Dave gave us a very warm welcome and showed us around the house. What we find so special and different about this farmstay is that Dave and Jeanette are the friendliest hosts we have ever met. As Dave said, "We love children and we love to entertain them. We want to create beautiful memories for them" And this is exactly what they did for my 7 and 4 year old and for my husband & I. They are really warm and we learnt so much about the farm and animals from them.
When we were there, they have 2 baby joeys (Daisy & Dom) and my kids loved cuddling them, feeding them and playing them. Every morning, the kids will go play with the joeys, sometimes even before we are awake, and Dave & Jeanette are always happy to have them play with the joeys. A little calf was also born while we were there and it's been named after my girl. She was of course, very pleased!
About the house, You actually get whole ground floor with 3 bedrooms while Dave & Jeanette lives above. There are 2 main bedrooms that are really spacious and both looks out to the garden. The rooms have a queen and sofa bed and there are foldaways too. There is a 3rd bedroom with a set of bunks. The hosts, Dave and Jeanette are really thoughtful and kept the place really nice and clean. Even though it was springtime, the put in heaters in the room cos they thought we may need them (being from sunny Singapore) and sure we did use it. There were also electric blannkets. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a lovely toy area to keep the children entertained.
Not forgetting to mention Spotty, the ever friendly dog that my kids love. It will always come to greet you in the morning or when you return.
The whole farmstay experience was really wonderful and i recommend it to anyone going to Albany. Location is great too.. On the way to the windfarm and near to the town as well. Btw, Dave also has a collection of classic cars and you can even rent them for a special occasion. And if you do go, say hi to "LeeAnn" the little calf for me :)
