“A natural paradise with every comfort”
Reviewed March 21, 2010

Hideaway Haven was the most outstanding accommodation we had during our five week visit to Australia. From the luxurious bedroom and bathroom to the fully equipped kitchen/laundry and lounge area, every convenience (including free internet) and comfort was provided for guests in order to create a relaxing experience. With a maximum of 6 guests at any one time, it was always possible to enjoy the outdoor spa in peace, or view the countryside (complete with horses, kangaroos, and many species of birds) from the spacious treetop level balcony. Our choices from the varied breakfast menu (delicious, innovative dishes) were enjoyed on our own balcony, and we could take a break from restaurant food by preparing a meal in the guests' kitchen and eating at the dining table in the common room. The Albany, Western Australia area has bush walks, wonderful deserted beaches with exquisite blue water, museums, restaurants and cafes, and activities.
This is a perfect 'haven' for couples to connect with nature (or each other), and experience this southwestern corner of Australia in comfort.

Lovely place with lovely hosts. The private decking was extra special where we enjoyed the heavenly breakfasts every morning in the tranquil settings. We spent every night in the jacuzzi under the stars and then off to sleep in the most comfortable bed ever.

Maggie and Becki were always on hand to offer tips on where to go, the best spots to see, beat places to eat. Hot Tip: Becki has the best tips on where to dine. Hotter tip: Maggie serves up the most yummilicious breakfast spread ever - the most extensive breakfast menu I've ever seen.

Facilities were excellent - well equipped kitchen with real coffee and tea plus extras like rooibos and green tea selections.

Room and bathroom were faultlessly spotless. Certainly felt most relaxed after staying at the Haven - home away from home! We also miss our new BFFs - CK, Cody and Rags!

A truly personal service. After a long day's travelling a lovely hot spa under the stars was just the job. The room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the bush and the sea, but best of all was the bed - possibly the most compelling reason for extending our stay from two nights to three. Mind you, we were also swayed by the lovely breakfasts and being greeted on our return home in the afternoons by tea time home bakes. We also had the use of a well-equipped laundry room and a smart sitting room and kitchen. A computer with broadband was available too. You need a car to stay here as it's a bit out of Albany town, but it is well situated for accessing the many super beaches (some of which we had entirely to ourselves - and the sea was actually warm) and places of interest around Albany. Some of these are stunning!
Our hosts were friendly and helpful, from recommending restaurans to finding church service times and advising on places of interest for the rest of our journey. We travelled around WA for a month and of all the places we stayed in this is the one I will always remember and want to go back to.

We had an amazing 1 night stay at Hideaway Haven. The room was immaculate and luxurious. The owners appeared to have thought of everything. The standard was well above what we expected from a guest house. The location is peaceful with fabulous views, making the most of the spectacular scenery in Albany. The breakfast was great and the hospitality received was second to none. There is hot tub overlooking the great scenery which is even better with a glass of wine! Easy to find with parking. We cannot believe that anyone would be disappointed with a stay at this wonderful accommodation

Everything was first-class, from accomodations to breakfast to free internet to hospitality.. and did I mention the wonderful jacuzzi under the stars! The place was quiet and the pace was up to the guests. With only three bedrooms, there is both lots of privacy as well as the opportunity to interact with others. We went with another couple, spent two nights, and would return again. We liked the fact that it was a few moments outside of Albany itslef, which gave us some space from all of this hustle and bustle.

My childhood dream after reading the wishing chair was to live in a treehouse and my wish finally came true after 30 years!! My husband and I spent an echanting, fairytale, dream-like night in the most heavenly beds, amongst the trees of HideAway Haven. Not only was the place pure luxury and peace, the service was impeccable, in-obtrusive and very professional. It was the BEST night away and we will do it again. Highly recommended to all who want perfect service, perfect quality and perfect sleep!

We would strongly recommend HideAway Haven if you want to stay in Albany (and we recommend you do if you're heading to the south-west).

The hosts are lovely, the accommodation was brand new and probably the best breakfast we've ever had at a B&B. They even have a barbecue with all the things you need to cook for yourself which is great when you are a bit sick of going out for dinner.

It's a little way out of town but as long as you have a car it's very easy to get in and out - and worth the extra drive (less than 10 mins, Albany isn't all that big!) to get out among the bush and the birds.

We'd stay there again for sure if we're ever back that way.
