“A must if you're in Torquay”

We stopped by Scorched for lunch on a Sunday afternoon after a weekend away and what a way to finish the weekend! Each dish was to die for and for $21 each we got a non-alcoholic drink each and 4 or 5 dishes between 3 of us. It was on the lighter side as we only wanted a light lunch. That being said we could easily have spent a bit more and had a more filling meal and dessert. We will definitely be back SOON!

“no surprise it's #1 !!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

We ate here almost by accident- just drove from our B & B and found it on a cold night. Luckily they were able to fit us in & we enjoyed a fantastic tapa-style meal. The staff were excellent with explanations of the choices & attentive without being intrusive. The food was divine - crispy school prawns, chilli salt & pepper salt cod fritters, grilled haloumi, and on for several more!!
Dessert of selection of home-made icecreams & sorbets. All that for A$86- unbelievable.

“First class hidden treasure.”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

The exceptional food and service at Scorched may just be the best dining experience I've had......ever. The wonderful and unique selection of Tapas offerings was visually stunning and a treat for the taste buds. We had four of the selection including the halloumi with pine nuts and raisins, beetroot salad with goat cheese, and more, The small tastes dessert tasting plate is plenty for two people and included traditional and ultra modern selections.

We will definitely return for our next special occasion, though just dining at Scorched is a social occasion! The service was second to none, unobtrusive and efficient. Well done to all the staff at Scorched, you made my birthday memorable.

“Seaside delight, stunning views, excellent food and service.”
Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sands resort. Our taxi driver informed us that Scorched was the best place to dine out in town. He took us to scorched,it was running late so we were a bit apprehensive when we got there first as it was so late. Our first impression, fab views, busy restaurant, plus thought they would tell a young couple that were clearly uncomfortable in such an exuberant setting. But not to worry, the attentive friendly and bubbly staff put us at ease straight away. The menu was fabulous, the food and wine list was varied, and plenty to choose from. Every plate was tasty so couldn't pick just one. The duck pies were a combination of sweet and savoury, combined with the crispy lemon potatoes. Yum. The staff really make this beautiful small seaside restaurant. We will definitely return on our next trip to Torquay, and would have no hesitation in recommending this seaside gem. Thanks to all at Scorched for perfectly setting off our first night of our Great Ocean road trip so romantically.

“Seaside surprise with wonderful service”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

I was very surprised to enjoy an excellent meal in Torquay which I wouldn't normally associate with great dining. We ate tapas for our whole meal and it is hard to pick favourites as everything was great! The halloumi with pine nuts and raisins was really tasty and the quail was exceptional. I also loved the chocolate torte as a decadent dessert. The wine and beer list is varied, we enjoyed reds from Portugal and heathcote which were perfect compliments to the meal. The service was wonderful, two staff managed to be lovely and attentive to quite a full Wednesday night room.

Will definitely return.
