you would think the title would suggest the need for earplugs is a given but having stayed in many a hotel from city to surf, noise can be expected but dishonest noise?? i caught but didn't understand the tone of reference upon checking in when the man behind counter toned 'oh a wotif booking, instantly knowing what room to put me in. P.s i saw the reservation book there was no # beside it. Now, this has happened before, in another hotel, attitude however slight to a booking made via this website and the 'other one', i didn't take much notice until i experienced what was to follow and hindsight had i clicked sooner i would have explained that this 2 day last minute getaway was a late birthday present to myself and much needed stress relief and money is money buddy ....so why did i get the room closest to the live music which reverberates off the bedsheets and when asked about the music finish time,(when i discovered its dulcet tones leaking into my room) albeit to shut me up before office closure(11pm), i was told set would finish at 11 or 12.. its 1:30 am and lets not forget to mention the smoking drunk stragglers outside having drunk convos in drunk high voices combine this with the being able to hear your neighbours very talkative girlfriend through the wall and their tv and them somehow manageing to bang the wall every now and then..... but the room is clean and i appreciate a room that looks like the job is taken seriously.thats almost worth staying here alone, except for the spider that crawled on me whilst in bed. but the beach is in walking distance. ha and they expect me to be out by 10 am after such a restfull night!

Room Tip: if you must stay here ask for the room down the back!

Our room had white bagged walls and sloping straw ceilings. It was a large room - wonderful! - with a window wall out to a small enclosed (and rather spartan) lawned area. There was a comfortable Queen sized bed, a single bed, light wood grained furniture, matching curtains and bedspreads in shades of dark blue, and grey carpet. All the usual utilities were present: kettle, toaster, TV, hair dryer etc, but no telephone. The bathroom was eye-catchingly smart and modern, with clerestory windows giving good day light. The room had some deficiencies. There was a small table/desk with a single chair not suited for breakfasts, and only one bedside table. The lighting at night was really not up to standard (for example, for reading in bed) - apart from a very bright desk lamp - and the power points were not all well placed. I enjoyed the bracing hot shower, but the lack of fan and heating in the bathroom meant that the large mirror was temporarily unusable. We enjoyed having a nice dinner at the adjoining bistro, and found the staff friendly and helpful. The motel is a short walk from the beach. This was a very nice motel room; some thoughtful modifications would make it first class.

We stopped here on our way down the Great Ocean Road after a day of driving across the Mornington Peninsula. Famous to the locals for its local Bistro, the food is warmly welcomed on a hot summer's day with refreshments and its a place often visited by families and youngsters looking to access Torquay and Bells Beach. It's within walking distance of beaches, the Surf Coast Plaza and local shops and restaurants. We opted for a moonlight bbq on the foreshore only 2 minutes drive away.

When we arrived the hotel was empty, when we returned from our bbq it was fully booked. For $120 a night for a room with strong shower, comfortable bed, organic bath products and soft white towels, you can't go past it.

The hotel housemaids are also very friendly and do a fabulous job of keeping the place super clean!

Great value for money! Recommended!

The motel rooms are very clean and good value for your money, and the food at the pub is excellent. Nice friendly people, we would stay there again.
