“Fairytale cottage in Port Fairy”
Reviewed January 29, 2013

After a lovely welcome from the owner, Doug (Scottish by birth) we were shown to a lovely restored 19th century cottage set in a delightful garden with an orchard and a field of Alpacas next to us. The accommodation was EVERYTHING I'D HOPED FOR and more. The bath was a delight after a long day's journey; the bed soooooo comfortable;the bbq was great; the cream teas in the tearoom started off a wonderful stay. Unfortunately, it was only for one night but how I wished it could have been for longer. Thank you for a superb stay.

Room Tip: All of the accommodation looked WONDERFUL.

We only stayed in Port Fairy for one night and we really wished that we could have stayed longer. We spent the night in Arrondoon Cottage and it was a bit magical. The nicest part was probably the pretty garden we shared with a neighbouring cottage. The owners had left port and chocolates, milk and butter. The house was very clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. We had a really lovely time and breakfast at the tea rooms the next morning was lovely. Really nice service too. We'd love to come back

Room Tip: Arrondoon Cottage is just gorgeous

We went to clonmara to celebrate our first anniversary. We wanted somewhere where could relax and unwind. This was exactly what we were able to do at clonmara! I also recommend dining for breakfast at the tea room- our breakfasts were delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely weekend away and would highly become recommend clonmara cottages.

We stayed here for one night and we will definitely be back.Doug and Ruth made us feel very welcome in the short time we were here. The couple could not be more modest and did not talk themselves up (Doug is the chef there and the tea room is the number one rated restaurant in port fairy) and we would of loved to of stayed longer to try out the scones!
I felt like Doug and Ruth took our title as their Guests quite literally and I will be recommending them to everyone!

Room Tip: we stayed in the new apartments - lovely view of the friendly alpacas

Wow, we did good!
It is an absolute thrill to receive a guest comment of this kind. We do try really hard to treat all our guests as we would like to be treated.
We hope that you will stay again, and perhaps we may be able to improve on our service and go the extra yard to ensure that you have similar or better experience
Again, we are very grateful to receive such a sensational review.

4 of us stayed in Clonmara Cottages during our drive from Adelaide to Melbourne. It was such a pretty garden feeling place with lovely cottages dotted around. The owners were very friendly with lovely pets and we had a very relaxing time.

Breakfast was left in the fridge in your cottage but my husband was able to order kippers which was delivered to us and which he pronounced delicious. It like a little bit of England in Australia.

We would go there again and wished we had stayed 2 nights instead of only one. Port Fairy was also very pretty and interesting to drive/walk around in.

We had such a lovely stay and felt very warmly welcomed. The setting was romantic and the gardens were lush. Your passion and dedication to making this a beautiful place has really paid off. I loved the Scottish breakfast and playing oversized chess in the garden. I also loved your dog, Sam! what a character.

Thanks for making our road trip a special experience and we hope to return again another time.

On arrival we were greated by Doug, who was very welcoming. We stayed two nights at Cherry Plum Cottage, which was an absolute delight, no noise just peace and quite. Breakfast was delicious, the gardens were colourful and so lovely, we enjoyed seeing the chickens and the alpacas. Thank you for a very comfortable stay, if we are ever down this way again we would definitely stay with you.
