Stayed here for a night in May 13 as part of our drive on the Great Ocean Road. The room is a little bit small but sufficient. Need to draw blinds for privacy as we were given a corner unit with glass windows & door on 2 of the walls. Location is at a quiet corner, a short walk to restaurants and amenities. Good for a short stopover, value for money.

Best Western? In my opinion this is not a BW-Motel, it is more of a cabin, and despite it is not that bad, I wonder how other travelers still call it a 'Gem'. Rooms are rather lousy and remind me of the cabins you can rent on campgrounds. The garish neon light does not enhance the atmosphere in any way, neither does the linoleum floor that gives it a touch of a shelter. The door to the room accessible via a shared porch-similar terrace, is integrated in the window front that you can only close by curtains. There is no privacy and you can always hear what your neighbors do and especially smell what they cook. You surely wont need more for 1 night but the price for value is certainly stretched towards the upper edge. The management is very friendly and helpful and the setting with garden might look idyllic, but the rooms definitely lack of charm.

This is a perfect place to stay overnight if you are driving the Great Ocean Road. The car entrance is from a side road round the back and there is plenty of parking. We had a helpful and warm welcome. Our cabin was more than adequate with a comfy bed, useful kitchenette with microwave, and bathroom with an excellent shower. Toiletries were provided, towels were good quality and hot water plentiful. It is a short walk into Port Campbell centre where there is a choice of a few good eating places. Dont forget to walk right to the end of the road to the little bay - it's very pretty. There is free wifi with a password from reception. The hosts also allowed us to use their commercial dryer as the guest one was out of order. The little terrace outside the room is perfect for a glass or two at sunset, or for morning tea.
The hotel is very close to Loch Ard Gorge and The Twelve Apostles.
A word of warning - arrive sober as the local police were breathalysing every driver as we arrived along the main road!

Another great TA recommendation. A bit confusing finding the entrance (take the side road). A friendly warm greeting, clean good- sized rooms, a good hot shower and a reasonable bed. If you want good Wi-Fi, ask for a room closer to reception as it’s a bit hit-and miss in the end rooms.

We stayed at the Port Campbell Best Western after seeing the 12 Apostles. It's a 3 minute walk to the main stretch which is great if you would like to be away from the noise of it all. It is decently furnished and Room 17 which we stayed in was perfectly sized for a couple.
