nice and friendly staff, free wifi which is quite important as my vodafone doesnt have reception in there.
the only thing I'm not happy about is that previous lodger has such strong body odour, every time I walk into the toilet I can smell it. Just bad luck.

Very nice location. Our stay was only overnight on way to SA.
Room very clean and quiet location.
Would recommend to friends and stay again if down that way.
Service given in pleasant manner and tips on sight seeding provide.

We stayed for 1 night in a family room. Clean and comfortable, although there were quite a few ants sharing with us! Josie was very friendly and helpful. She recommended 'Frying Nemo' for fish and chips, which we ate by the beach - wonderful!

We stayed in the Family Unit (#11) for one night. The family unit is the former residence of the caretakers and is, therefore, more like a holiday house than a two bedroom motel room when it comes to its generous size and spacious room layout. For example, we were able to tuck our girls into bed and then return to the living area without feeling like we had to tiptoe about.

The unit is very well appointed (including a selection of games and books) and decorated in a delightful seaside theme - it would certainly be a very comfortable option for families staying for more than just one night.

The staff at this property are extremely friendly and helpful, making honest and informed recommendations for dining options and local activities.

We appreciated the thick towels and bathmats in the bathroom - and the fact that there was enough space to hang them all up! We also found the beds and pillows to be extremely comfortable...although all the beds are on lockable castors so our recommendation is to sit/lay on the beds gently (not land with an almighty flop like our eight year did, giving us all a startle at the subsequent wheel noise!).

It is probably worth mentioning that because of its former use, the unit is attached to the reception and there is one door in the unit that, although locked, leads through to the reception. Because of this some phone and conversational noise from the reception does carry into the unit - although this is not a problem outside of reception hours (8am-8pm) when families are most likely needing quiet time anyway.

We would highly recommend this property for any families looking for a comfortable stay in the lovely township of Port Cambpell.

My parents were in Melbourne visiting and we decided to take them to the Great Ocean Road and all the tourist sites around. After driving for a long time we were happy to arrive to a clean and massive room for the four of us at Portside Motel. I think we stayed at the biggest room (11); it has a good kitchen with all the appliances you might need and a very generous bathroom. The owners were very helpful when helping us get around in Port Campbell and gave us great advice in regards to the best places to go for sight-seeing. Friendly staff, clean rooms and great location for a very reasonable price.
