“Great stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

The bed and breakfast is good located and close to the centre, the restaurants and the tourist information centre. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The room is very big and well equipped. Same for the bathroom. Nice breakfast in the morning. If you needed something you only had to ask.

A private cottage that provided the basics. Narrow openings to toilet and shower, and double beds, so lucky we are small people. Old sofa and small TV. Roomy main area with basic kitchen, quiet fridge, and heater.

Port Campbell is a lovely sea side town close to all of the amazing cliffs and rock formations along the Great Ocean Road. Driving from Loch Ard Gorge to Warnnambol, it is worthwhile stopping at each of the stops (even unmarked ones!) to check out the coastline, and Port Campbell is the perfect location to use as a base for this. We stayed in the cottage, which is at the back of the owner's property. It is decked out with timber and fancy corrugated sheeting which gives it a rustic feel, and is very spacious and was perfectly cleaned. It is also fully equipped with a kitchen and small washing machine (unfortunately no bath for our daughter though). The best thing was its location, right on the main street and 5min by foot from the beach and jetty - highly recommended.

Port Bayou B&B was just the place for a couple looking for a short getaway in Port Campbell. It was clean and comfortable. It is about 5min walk to the town centre and the swimming beach-no driving required. The continental breakfast hamper was really nice and provided a range of cereals and spreads to choose from. The room could have been better aerated with an additional window..seemed a little stuffy. And bear in mind that it shares a wall with the owners house so you can hear them as well. Overall, the owners were quite friendly and hospitable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a short stay in a basic and cosy place.

We love staying in b & b's because we enjoy meeting and talking with the locals. However, this place, although attractive, gave no opportunity of communing with anybody very much.
As stated the room is attractive and well equipped, but having been shown where it was ( separate from the owner's accom) we were left to our own devices. Even when we checked out in the morning we saw only the babysitter - the "host" was out at work.
Breakfast was disastrous. It was all in the fridge and consisted of not a lot - especially the 4 meagre slices of supermarket cut bread wrapped in clingfilm were an insult.
No, not our idea of a b & b. Oh and make sure you have enough cash as they do not accept cards and Port Campbell is not awash with ATM's

We stayed 3 nights in the cottage. 2 rooms with double beds, would be very cosy if 4 adults occupied it. The toilet is very close to the kitchen area and therefore would need to be very good friends.
Not overly clean with cracked crockery and mugs that were crazed inside and not so nice to use.
TV set on high cupboard with an old couch the other end of the room. Not a comfortable position for watching and certainly not comfortable seating for 4 people.
One dining room chair was cracked. The door mat should have been thrown out years ago and curtains needed a good wash.
Having said that it was quiet and handy for town with a lovely friendly dog. We enjoyed a good meal at the pub with very generous portions. Do most of your shopping before you get to Port Campbell as the shop is very limited.
Would we stay there again, maybe but only with my own cup.

This b & b is so cosy and comfortable felt just like home which was just what we needed after a day in the car. Breakfast was a good selection and heaps of it. They even set up a room speciality for my daughter was a nice little touch. Young friendly owners would definetely recommended it.
