“6 stars - not five - amazing”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

We stayed there on a recommendation and what a treat it was
The property consists of 3 private villas set high on the hill with sweeping views of Port Campbell and surrounds.
No expense has been spared in the fit out. The king bed was super comfy with extra cushions - the bathroom had a supersize spa bath and modern fittings. The kitchen was state of the art with induction cooking. The lounge had a comfy sofa with table, mounted TV and gas fireplace. Double blinds to allow a sleep in :) The villa was so peaceful and had every amenity you needed and we didn't want to leave. Our host, Tanya was fantastic and went the extra mile. Fresh milk (not long life), coffee machine with beans, muesli sachets. Candles in the bathroom, bubble bath. Fluffy towels. A selection of DVD's . The first thing that struck us was how spotless this was and how modern. Spoil yourself !!!

Room Tip: Just enjoy!

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Melbourne to spend a bit of time exploring the GOR and having time out. Tanya was friendly, organised and helpful, organising a cot for our baby and offering a high chair if we needed it. The villas are gorgeous - great just to hang out in and watch the sunset and the ocean in front of the fire. The rooms are absolutely spotless and perfectly fitted out with amazing attention to detail. A wonderful place to relax and a pleasure to stay at.

We stayed here one night during our honeymoon and wish we'd stayed longer. The "room" was simply amazing...spotless, modern, all the comforts and amenities you could ever want. The location is fabulous...close enough to hear and see the ocean but far enough from the town that you can see the milky way and not hear another living soul. The host was very friendly when we arrived, and we also loved Jack (the dog) and Jacques (the bird). This is a great place to stay for a couple days while exploring the Western end of the Great Ocean Road. Highly recommend!

Anchors is absolutely fabulous. Thoughtfully designed, superbly equipped, immaculately clean. A perfect, and perfectly comfortable, place for a quiet retreat while enjoying the spectacular scenery of Port Campbell and the surrounding area. Tanya, who manages the property, is everything you would want in a host: efficient, knowledgeable, and on top of all details. Plus, she is a great resource on local activities, including recommendations on dining and on the various local artisan producers of cheese, chocolate, whiskey, etc.

We enjoyed the hamper of local treats she had waiting for us (small extra charge). After a day on the Great Ocean Road, wonderful to sit outside our bungalow with views of rolling hills and the ocean, and to enjoy local cheese and wine.

The only difficulty we had at Anchors was resisting the temptation to extend our stay.

We arrived in Anchors late in the evening after driving more than 300km from Halls Gap. It was a very wet day in August and we were feeling hungry and cold. However, the moment we entered the Anchors, it immediately brought us much warmth and comfort. Wow! Such a beautiful villa!

Everything was perfectly organized and cleaned. The views from the villa were fantastic, overlooking Port Campbell town and the sea at the far end. The electric gas fireplace kept us really warm. The kitchen was well-quipped with new and complete cookware and utensils. I especially love the coffee machine. Tanya was so sweet and had provided a nice packet of coffee powder. It was definitely very relaxing to make a cup of coffee, and sit at the sofa next to the fireplace to admire the beautiful scenery outside.

Anchor was a good base for us to visit the many attractions along Great Ocean Road. The villas are very well designed and maintained. The host, Tanya, is a beautiful lady who took care of details and was always very helpful. She gave us good guides and directions on where to visit and also where to buy nice chocolates.

Thank you, Anchors! Thank you, Tanya!

Anchors Port Campbell is possibly one of the best accommodations we have ever stayed for a holiday. In fact, we have been there four times and I am sure we will be back again in the near future. The villas were ready upon arrival and not to mention, extremely clean and fully-equipped – we always feel right at home on all trips without fail. Sunset view is amazing from the villa and my favorite part of the interior is definitely the fire place. Anchors is definitely the best place for a retreat, especially for a couple like us who lives right in the middle of the city.
Also we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Tanya's effort for being such a great host. Thank you Tanya, we hope to see you again soon! :)

Anchors is a gorgeous hotel. There are three self contained cottages on the hillside, over looking Port Campbell. Each unit is very private and beautifully decorated. The bathroom overlooks Port Campbell and you could relax in a spa bath, enjoying the view, without the worry of the neighbours spotting you. There is a fire place which makes it all the more cosy. I would highly recommend staying at Anchors as a base and traveling to the apostles and surrounds from there. I can't recommend enough!
