We had already traveled most of the Great Ocean Road (having come from Adelaide) before reading the history of the road --- it did however help us confirm that we had seen everything on our journey (thankfully we had done our research before we left for Australia)

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Great Ocean Road Story at the Lorne Visitor Information Centre. It’s great to hear you included the exhibit on your itinerary, it provides such a great understanding of the construction of the Great Ocean Road via a series of galleries featuring historical displays and artefacts. Thanks again for visiting and I do hope you had a wonderful time along the Great Ocean Road.

This is well worth a stop if you are sightseeing the "Great Ocean Road". It is well laid out and has very good access and parking with consideration given for wheel chairs. Definitely worth a look and a great toilet stop.

Worth the short time to walk through this which explains why and how the road was built. Felt sorry for the men who mainly hand dug this road over 13 years!
