“Wish we could have stayed longer!! A+++”
Reviewed December 31, 2010

Due to the busy holiday season, we were only to get one night at the Grand Pacific Hotel. We had 5 adults, My husband and I, 23 year old son, his girlfriend and 19 year old daughter. We got a 3 bedroom apartment overlooking the ocean and everything about it was wonderful! Spacious, especially the balcony! Rooms, kitchen. Would be great for a week+ stay. Ate dinner down in the restaurant and it too was a great meal with very friendly staff. Oh, and that's the other thing, the staff were fun and helpful. Looking forward to going again!!!

On opening the door to the room i had a panic attack because it was so small you could hardly swing a cat in it, thought I would make myself a coffee on arriving the kettle was filthy inside and the cup was dirty also. then decided i needed a little nap when i woke up my nose was pressed against the side of the cupboard because the room was so small ,luckly we went for a walk to get some air and stumbled on the OCEAN LODGE MOTEL next door.
Got a huge room for one night with millon dollar ocean views and everything was perfect for just 20 dollars more could only stay for one night because all rooms were booked out till end of jan did not want to leave highest compliment, cannot recomend highly enough.Had still 2 days left at other place but could not go back after the brilliant experience at the OCEAN LODGE MOTEL so we have booked a year in advance to return next year

Dear Avanco
Yes our Double Rooms are small and it was unfortunate that we had none of our Queen, Pier Queen, King or King Spa rooms available to upgrade you. So glad you still enjoyed your Lorne experience and are returning to our beautiful town this year.
Kind regards

Stayed in an upstairs (3rd floor) king ocean view room. Room was comfortable. Common areas looked a little cluttered and worn. No elevator so keep that in mind if you have much luggage. Restaurant was okay but not great. Lovely walk along a paved walking trail to the main street area of Lorne. Staff was very friendly.

Restaurant review only .. We were staying at a place around the corner. I dropped in to book a table and the staff couldn't have been nicer. We have 3 small children and when we came back for dinner, there were 3 high chairs set up and the staff could not have been more attentive. The kids had colouring pencils to allow us 5 minutes to eat our meals. We went for the $20 special which was chicken parmigana and a beer. Mine was delicious, my husband said his was a bit dry but he didn't care. We got to go out and the staff treated us like human beings and not lepers. The kids had a good selection of meals reasonably priced as well. Hats off to the staff for making our night out so enjoyable and finishing our 3 day break on a high.

My friend and I wanted a few days' R&R before heading off to Equitana in Melbourne. Bryce and his staff gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the hotel. We chose a large room on the second floor in the grand hotel overlooking the pier. The room had been rcently refurbished to a good standard. The slat beds were very comfortable. We ate both nights in the hotel restaurant and had the specials both nights - lamb shanks and then Tuesday night was Spanish night and we enjoyed a scummy paella. The staff were young, but very attentive to us two oldies and we enjoyed many laughs together. A great casual atmosphere but all the detail taken care of. Thanks for a great visit. Yvonne & Marion.

Awful hotel, great location and view.

We decided to eat in the restaurant........we were told to order out last drinks at 11pm as the owner wanted to go to bed. After some discussion we were allowed to take our last drinks to another room .....half an hour later we were told to go to bed. The hotel was empty but apparently we were keeping other guests awake while having a glass of wine....weird.

We are happy to receive any feedback in regards to our hotel, whether it be positive or negative, factual or subjective. However it is extremely difficult to be able to investigate claims such as this when they have be made nearly 12 months after the visit to our hotel. We take a great deal of pride in our hotel and believe that our product and service is constantly improving to meet the demands of our valued.

Just stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment this weekend, which had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The whole apartment was very clean and up to a very good standard, comfy chairs and a large living area for the 4 of us. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed to cook meals. The laundry is well equipped as well and undercover parking was a bonus. Our apartment had a great view out across the bay - what more could we ask for, sitting out on the balcony. The staff was very helpful and promptly responded to a few queries that I had prior to staying at Lorne. Our family had a lovely stay here and it is a pleasant walk down to the centre of Lorne.
