I stayed for a night and I wish I hadn't.
The girl that checked me in was lovely and helpful but when I checked out the lady was horribly unhelpful, clearly in a bad mood and had no customer service skills.
The room itself was average but after an hour of being in there my partner and myself got very itchy, watery eyes and we both couldn't stop sneezing. All the night manager thought of doing was changing the bed sheets and clearly that wasn't the problem... The entire room was the problem! The only positive was that the location was great. Other than that I wouldn't recommend this hotel to absolutely no one. Very disappointed.

We had a beachfront 2 bedroom apartment. The second room was connected by a dirty hall and both rooms had heavy auto closing doors we had to ask for door stops so to feel we were together in one apartment, also that room had one small window that looked into the stair well! The windows didn't open which you attempted to fix but they were broken. I had to clean the deck and outdoor furniture to make it usable. The lounge furniture was tired and soiled. Our rooms were not serviced at all during our 3 night stay. This is not a 4.5 star place and certainly not worth the high price we paid. One positive was the breakfast it was excellent.

On arrival the check in staff were not that greeting. Once we entered our room, floor was dirty, the couch has stains on it. Then Breakfast, ... Never again . The staff are rude and the quality of food is poor. The bread ran out, so did the eggs and when we asked the staff their response was "we are doing the best that we can". The tables were dirty. Its a pity, the grounds are so well kept, atleast the gardeners are Doing a fabulous Job. Upon check out, staff not very interested in feedback . Never again, we won't be back for $461, it was a rip off. !!

I like this place for its location, I hate this place because it is tired, so you have to make a trade off, as there is not much better on offer in Lorne. Fresh and clean linen offsets not do clean appearance of the suite( 2 BR). Reasonable breakfast( food) offset by nil service, get the drift, this is a place that is acceptable but be prepared for some trade offs. Probably would stay again.

We spent a weekend at Lorne with our 3 boys in a 3 bedroom apartment. motel room and
adjoining apartment. If you look you can see signs of wear and tear. (dirty grout, marks on
walls & carpet etc) Overall these things are very minor . Mantra is superbly located with
magnificent grounds and facilities. (tennis courts, immaculate indoor pool & gym, mini golf,
and other amenities) The beach is 2 minutes away as are all the shops. We didn't use the
restaurant but found all staff to be friendly and helpful. Super comfy beds and quiet at night
equals great sleeps by all !!

If not for superficial maintenance items in the rooms this review would be a well deserved 5 stars.

My advice is ignore the average reviews in some case and have a great weekend at Lorne.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a sea view but all have great aspects. We had a view of the bowling green and ma...

We stayed 2 nights at the Mantra Lorne, and for the price that we had to pay, it was quite disappointing. For a hotel that is marketed as a 4.5 star property, there is a lot of work to be done in lifting the standards. We were staying in a Heritage Room, which was of good size. The bathroom however needed a really good clean – mould and all sorts of grime growing in the shower.

On the second day we found that the room had not been made up after we returned late in the evening. The reception offered us a small reduction in our room rate as compensation, which we accepted, however we didn’t have much alternative given it was close to midnight and we weren’t going to wait for it to be fixed then.

On Sunday morning the only way to describe breakfast was that it was a shambles. Clearly they had not staffed the restaurant for a busy Sunday, so the staff were being run off their feet. When we arrived there was not any hot breakfast available in the warmers, no bread for toast, minimal fruit left, and even the coffee had run out. After some time staff managed to bring some food out, but given everyone had waited so long, once food did come out, there was a mad rush for people to grab what they could. This put a real damper on what should have been a very pleasant Sunday morning breakfast.

The property has so much potential – it is in a great location – easy access to the beach, fantastic grounds (lots of open space). It is just disappointing its service components aren’t matching those standards.

Mums group of 7 stayed at the Mantra for an extra long weekend. We actually stayed here 10 years ago on a previous reunion, has had a nice upgrade since then. The accommodation and location provides a great place to stop along the Ocean Road, some lovely shops and restaurants just across the street. The beach is easily accessed via the gate at the back of the property.
We were given 2 x two-bedroomed resort rooms next to each other on level one. Having a fully equipped kitchen and reasonable sized living area provided a good space to meet and chat. The corner location was a bonus with a lovely sized balcony to relax on.

Don't understand the need for the exhaust fan to continually be on in the bathrooms, found you had to keep the door fully closed at night to get to sleep. Thought this was just the room we were in but was the case in all four.

Tried the restaurant on-site one night. Setting was lovely, but the service was rather slow even though there was only a few tables occupied most of the evening. When our meals finally arrived, the 3 of us who ordered the fish and chips, all had cold chips. Must say the fish was hot and very tasty. Price and choice of menu was reasonable.

A great place to stay especially if you have larger groups to accommodate.
The units have their own parking space by the block you are in, and also a lift.

Room Tip: Corner units, larger balcony. At least one level up, as people walking past easily see in the groun...
