“Delicious, fresh and great service! ”
Reviewed March 11, 2014 via mobile

We enjoyed everything about our experience at Mexican Republic! The corn to start was fantastic, and our burritos were delicious, too. We had a mojito and a margarita, which were both fresh and delicious, albeit a little strong. The only thing we thought was a little strange was that, in a seaside town, there was no seafood on the menu. Service was also fantastic, and it's a great addition to Lorne, as there are not many great restaurants in this town. Would definitely recommend this place!

“Relaxed, tasty and surprising.”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

Our family loves Lorne, but the dining can be expensive and uninspiring. We were therefore delighted to discover the Mexican Republic. A friendly relaxed place with tasty food. Unpretentious and with some interesting treats. To start try the charred street corn followed by the tostaditas - pork shoulder or chorizo and mushroom - they are both great. Then for main the quesadillas - cheese or chorizo & potato or black bean - they were all tasty. There is only one red and one white wine available. The red was very acceptable. And a range of cocktails.

“They shouldn't be allowed to call themselves Mexican!! ”
Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

Went here for dinner after finding it on tripadvisor. I don't even know how they can call themselves Mexican? Not authentic, no flavours and certainly no spices. After voicing our dissatisfaction, the waitress informed us that the kitchen had new cooks. Like that justified it? No offer to discount the meal that was in edible and not eaten at all. Sorry but a burrito is Braised beef, flavoured, wrapped in a tortilla and oven baked with melted cheese on top. Not a wrap cut into a roll with mince meat that was as bland as cardboard and filled with no cheese, black uncooked beans ew, and something that resembles cous cous?? By far the worst Mexican EVER!!
