Came here for an impromptu dinner with friends. Our food was reasonably priced and tasty. Three of us had the chicken stuffed with pine nuts and one had a steak. The service was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. They were happy to split the bill and there was no surcharge for Amex.

Cowes in the off season is nice & quiet. It also means that a few of the restaurants are closed. It was a Sunday night as well so that had a bearing on what is open. Thankfully the Fat Seagull is open. I had the pork ribeye with a honey mustard sauce. There was a little too much mustard in the sauce for my liking, but very nice all the same. My wife had the chicken supreme. My wife is gluten & dairy intolerant, so that makes dining out "fun". We were assured that this dish would suit her requirements. No side effects from last night so they got it right! If any dairy or gluten were present the reaction is usually fairly soon after eating. Nice enough atmosphere. The waitress might have been more professionally dressed for the evening crowd. Overall an enjoyable meal.

Thank you DeckardR, for taking the time to let us know about your dining experience with us. We're very glad you joined us for your anniversary dinner, and we're even happier that we could make it an enjoyable evening for you both!
We always try to have most of our meals on our menu edible for those who have dietary requirements, or easily changed to suit if not. We're glad that on this occasion we were able to provide your wife with a suitable and we hope also enjoyable meal. Thank you also for your helpful criticisms, we understand there is always room for improvement in this industry and I will ensure what you have said is taken back to both our floor and kitchen staff for future reference.

We certainly appreciate your kind words, and hope that you join us for a meal again soon!

Warm regards, the team @ The Fat Seagull!

Had a lovely lunch on Mother's Day. Some more attention to detail would be good. My sons glass had lipstick on it, and his meal had a hair in it. Food was very good.

Hi Susan B!

Thank you for leaving us some valued feedback on your experience with us for mother's day lunch. We're very glad to hear that you enjoyed your meals with us, and very much want to apologise for the oversights on the meal, and glass.
We appreciate you being so understanding about these indiscretions the staff here do always try to ensure they check all glassware after washing and polishing to make sure they are as clean as possible. Unfortunately it appears this one may have slipped through our fingers and I will ensure the staff are informed to prevent this from happening again. As for the hair in one of your meals, we can only apologise as well for allowing that to happen we have all kitchen staff wearing full chef clothes and hats at all times, and our wait staff are required to have their hair tied back when working as well to try and prevent this from happening as much as possible, sometimes it can still occur and we appreciate you informing us of this so that we may put some further actions into place to eradicate it as much as humanly possible.

Once again we would love to thank you for taking the time to provide us with such valuable feedback, and we hope to see you dining with us again for another enjoyable meal!

Warm Regards, the team @ The Fat Seagull

My husband and I dined here on Saturday night and it's the first time we have been to this restaurant. We went there as a local lady recommended it. We were not disappointed! I can honestly say its one of the best meals I have had in a long time. We had 3 courses and they were all superb! We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you.
