“Emus are aggressive”
Reviewed June 10, 2012

If they hear the crinkle of the paper bag with food, they WILL come up to you and expect to be fed! The wallabys and gray kangaroos are much more at ease with people around.

“Great place to interact with Australian wildlife!”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

We visited this park twice while living in Melbourne and it was one of our favorite experiences. The staff are always friendly and we enjoy the relaxed, old fashioned feel of the place. Admission is reasonable and includes a bag of animal feed. They have a large collection of native animals and birds and although the park and animal enclosures seem a old and worn, the animals look healthy and well taken care of. You are allowed to hand feel many of them and as we are from the states, and it was a unique and exciting experience to be surrounded by a large number of friendly red and gray kangaroo and emus. You can even hand feed the cassowary if you're brave enough. Both days we visited were a little rainy so we practically had the park to ourselves. It's nice to visit a park that isn't so burdened with rules and restrictions that it takes all the fun out it!

“Great to get close to the animals”
Reviewed April 24, 2012

Really enjoyed our afternoon here, especially hand-feeding the wallabies who were so cute.
There was a wide open bush area to walk around in where the animals seemed very relaxed and if they were hungry they would bounce up to you and ask for food.
It was a little sad seeing the big eagles in a smallish cage, but the kangaroos and wallabies in particular seemed to have a great life.
