Had a surprise birthday dinner organised here on 28 December 2012. Unimpressed is an understatement.
Meals took a long time to actually come out, almost an hour in total. Kids meals came out after the adults main meals - even a bowl of chips was obviously too much to ask for and came out even later!!! The food was really nothing special. One friend ordered the gnocchi and had 6 pieces of gnocchi in total, the rest of the dish was sauce.
Some friends bought a birthday cake for myself, as a surprise wherein they were told with so much attitude "it's clearly states on the website no cakes allowed". Maybe when you have a large booking - state that then if its such a sore spot, not just on the website!! Whilst cutting the cake had one staff member literally leaning over me to take it off me straight away. We could have however had the cake there, if we wanted to pay an extra $3pp just to cut the cake on top of the already overpriced, below average meals. Ridiculous.
To make matters worse we then called the restaurant the next day to express our disappointment to which the owner had nothing more to say other then "yep" to everything we said and then put the phone down. How professional.

All in all would most definitely advise you not to waste time here. Even the "owner" of the restaurant has no interest in customer service and making your experience a good one. I really could go on and on with how many other things were totally unacceptable.

We were just looking for a light lunch but talked ourselves into fish and chips. The battered fish was very good. Succulent fish covered with a light, almost tempura batter, with good chips. A beer each and a lovely view over the sea. Can't say any more than we would go there again.

Upstairs on Sunday open for breakfast - delicious omlette and great coffee out on the verandah overlooking bay.

Food was delicious but service wasn't so great. Not sure if it was because they didn't have enough people working but we barely got any attention. Dishes were also left on our table for ages.

This was a great night out with Great Food but was a little spoilt with average service. Our waiter did not tell us of the specials and additional menu options that were available – we did hear other tables being told of this from other staff members. The wait for the food and drinks was a little long but it was all made up with the quality of food. The oysters Kilpatrick would have to be some of the best we have ever eaten!!!
