Myself,my partner and 2 children went out for the whale watching tour. After leaving San Remo for some reason we went the long way around the island to seal rock, that's where the trouble started. We should never had gone out in those conditions.90% of the people where throwing up for the next 2 hours. My 9 year old was so scared she was crying. My partner was so sick when we did come across a whale she was to unwell to look at it.Waste of money. And to top it off one of the crew made a joke about my 4 year old when she tripped over getting of the boat. The man was a disgrace

Dear Pat, I am so sorry you had this experience on our cruise. Our cruises head in the direction where whales are likely to be seen or have been sighted by spotters on land. This often determines the initial route we take. Unfortunately, passengers can become quite sick and this all depends on their biochemical and physiological predispositions towards seasickness. There is no way to really predict this for individuals until they are on a moving vessel, vehicle or aircraft. The whales are out in Bass Strait, a stretch of water that manifests unpredictable swell patterns and these also are not predictable until we are out there. The forecast can say one thing but the reality may be something altogether different. However, it is dreadful that you had such a poor experience on our cruise and we apologise for the poor use of humour. Our crew try to lighten the mood if there have been a number of people unwell but unfortunately not all of us are able to perform appropriate interpersonal skills when we feel anxious for passengers. Our priority is to try and ensure you have a good time. At times, mother nature tests our fortitude and human fallibility can arise in those situations. If you would like to discuss your experience, please do not hesitate to call us.

The overall experience was very good beside the bad weather and high swells and lack of wildlife, however the crew were friendly and helpful and the captain was very informative regarding the history of Philip island and the awareness regarding whales and wildlife, the only bad feedback I had was regarding the lunch served, I was expecting something little more than just canned soup and bread. But the overall experience was great. Will do again maybe just not at the end of the whaling season

Hi Montinaz,

Great to hear you enjoyed you cruise despite the conditions on the day, we always try to advise passengers ahead of time so they are prepared! I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your lunch. Our soup and veggie muffins are all home made and our rolls supplied by a local bakery. It's nice to hear our crew looked after you, we hope you will join us again one day soon.

Kind Regards,
Jess

Although this was meant to be a whale watching cruise I was very aware that the whale migration has all but finished and unfortunately there were no whales today. It didn’t matter! The seals, the large pod of Common Dolphins and my favourite bird, the Shy Albatross, all made appearances. Being winter it wasn’t warm but it was so invigorating, and being out on Bass Strait makes the adventure that much more fun. The crew were fantastic, very knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough for those guests that didn’t fare so well with the rolling seas. The Captain has a great sense of humour.....I hope one day he gets to see the Orcas. Thanx to all the crew, I had an awesome day!

Thank you 934samh for your kind words,

It sounds as though you really enjoyed yourself. Our staff always strive to get the best experience for our customers.
The shy Albstross are so amazing gliding with the sea, common dolphins are always exciting to see, the seals are incredible as they are the puppies of the ocean, sounds like an amazing cruise.

I will pass along your compliments to the captain and crew and we hope to see you in the future.

Kind regards,
Bree

If I could give this 110/10 I would. We took the boat on an hour cruise and the crew were fab! We were lucky enough to strike gold and see a couple of pods of humpback whales...John the captain made sure we hung around to see! Thx!

Hi Mckinickers,

It sounds like you had an incredible cruise,
Cape Woolamai is my favourite stretch of coastline in the area, it truly is spectacular, as is the abundant wildlife we get to see our cruises. Captain John strives to make sure you get the most out of any of his cruises, especially when there is whales around.

Kind Regards,
Bree

Good size boat, clean facilities (including toilet), comfortable seating. Tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Extremely friendly crew - always up for a chat / ready to answer any questions, proactive with managing people who were starting to feel seasick and showed genuine concern.
We got to see many seals, a couple of dolphins and most importantly (on a whale watching trip), we were able to spot 2 whales! They were so kind and extended the boat trip longer than it should have been. We would not have seen the whales otherwise.

We went on the Kasey Lee whale watching cruise on Saturday 20th July. We were lucky enough to see 2 southern right whales and plenty of seals. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and thought the crew were all very informative and really well organised. We would thoroughly recommend this trip.

Hi CathieH34,

It sounds like you had an amazing cruise,
Wow! You are very lucky to see Southern right whales as the whale numbers are scarcer.

Thank you for taking the time to review us and we hope to see you in the future.
Kind regards,
Bree
