“Fun in the Tree Tops”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2014

The Otway Fly is super fun, the instructors are switched on and can provide great info on the history of the area, foliage etc.. - ask about the carnivorous snails! We're pretty fit, lean people so we had a ball on the Fly and the Walk. Wear comfortable clothing (nothing overly baggy, it'll get caught up in the harnesses) and runners or good walking shoes. They have lockers available if you've got bags and stuff with you. If you can go on a week day do it - we went there on Sunday and the Zip line groups had at least 10 and it was crowded. Went back on Monday and our Zip line group numbered just 4, much, much better. Ring first though - it's a fair trek to get there and you can find out when the next group is heading off and if there's room for you (there's an orientation/safety session first.) Re the cost ($205 pp) - it's expensive but you're only going to do this once so we thought it was worth it and now it's off the list of things to do.

“Mmm?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2014

The Otway Fly is an interesting experience in itself, BUT ...
We arrived at 3pm, having travelled the Great Ocean Road from Warrnambool.
#1: The walk from the car park is more than 300m, (closer to 0.8km), despite the sign posts.
#2 The Black Snail restaurant closes at 3pm, although the Walk is open till 5pm. We were "brushed off" by the catering staff ~ coffee & left-over cakes were the only food available.
#3 The Dinosaur walk is in disrepair, and doesn't depict Australian dinosaurs.
#4 The "return shuttle" from Station 6 did not arrive, and we got a "laughing apology" from the staff at the visitors' centre. Seemingly, the shuttle pick-up times had changed, but no-one had had the nous to advertise this at Station 6.
#5 Getting to and from the Walk would be a nightmare for anyone who is confined to a wheel-chair.
I'm pretty angry that my Irish visitor was subjected to such disdain. We Aussies might think that being friendly and casual "makes up" for lack of service, but it doesn't. Frankly, I'm embarrassed that I subjected her to this experience. My "cynical self" would not recommend this attraction. There are better things to do in Victoria.

“really nice walk and rainforest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2014

Had a good day, we took our 2 1/2 year old toddler and he had a great time seeing the dinosaurs before the walk way over the rainforest. I thought $25 per adult was a bit much for what it was to be honest. The café there had some nice food as well.

“A Brilliant Day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

My daughter really wanted to do the Zipline and finally persuaded us to get on the earlyish (10am) run, it was a bit chilly at first and not being a great fan of heights I was apprehensive, and to be honest was thinking it was a bit expensive. Once we got up it was probably one of the most fun, instructive, breathtaking experiences I have done for a long time.
Sam and Maria were wonderfully competent, confident, clear and supportive of all levels of fear and confidence in the group.
It was more than an experience adventure thing they clearly really care for their forest and the things they do in it - it was educational and instructive as well as great fun.
Also taking the forest walk was better than I expected it was very special to look down on the forest and taking it all in.
We spent almost the entire day there- it turns out I think this was altogether the best value for money I have had for a long while.

If you have any strength after that - Triplet Falls just down the road is a great forest walk and a worth a look if you like walking

“Great place but lots of walking needed!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014 via mobile

We got here early on a Monday which was great as v quiet. $25 per adult. It's quite a walk from the car park to the reception. Then to walk all the way round was about an hour. You need to be reasonably fit as it is quite a trek! A walk down to the start was about 15-20 mins, then walking on the treetop walk which was by far the best bit, then the trek uphill was quite tiring. There is a buggy but it didn't turn up as it stated. So if you are not v mobile this may not be for you. It is a lovely place though.
