Very disapponted! Our stay lasted 2 hours at this hotel! We checked in on Jan 7th with Martin who was very helpful and the only reason im scoring better than I should. We settled down for the night at around 10pm and just as we were about to get to sleep there were four very loud bangs on the door next to us - considering we were told we were alone on that wing of the hotel we were pretty freaked out. We finally got to sleep but every half an hour the same bangs would happen. Me and my partner couldn't get to sleep and considering we had work the next morning we left the hotel and resorted to sleeping in the car. We lost a days wage as we only managed to get 3 hours sleep and were $80 out of pocket - too over priced for the more than dated room anyway. We went back the next day to try and get our money back but were told by Helen we could only have half our money back due to cleaning the room and laundering the sheets, Helen said they would lose money if they were to give us our money back, very corteous of them!! Still really annoyed at the experience we went back a second time to speak to the owner but still no better off as he did not even acknowledge us! Very rude! The worst hotel we have ever stayed in and we would never go back. Just feel the staff apart from Martin are very rude and didnt even have the decency to apologize. Dont stay here!

There are always two sides to every story. On Ms Stenson's return to the Hotel, the Owner was pointed out to her, but was not approached. It was an extremely busy time of the day, on which I was working in the bar, and therefore only had time to point the owner out, but not to make any introductions. Ms Stenson left before making any approach to the owner.

I also did apologise for the noises that happened during the night, although it was probably the windiest night that Deloraine had had in a very long time, which in all probability accounted for the noises that were happening.

On the matter of a refund, the situation was stated at the time - even though a full night was not spent in the Hotel, the room still has to be serviced, and the bedding etc sent away to be laundered, which does come at a cost. A 50% refund in my opinion is quite fair.

Totally disappointed ! If you stay there don't stay in a room on the western side of the building - you will be awoken by either the chiller for the bottle shop running all night, or the clomping of feet from the gym attached to the hotel. No coffee or milk in the guests kitchen for both days- asked after the first day but still none supplied- asked on the morning of departure- but to no avail.
It's a shame as this used to be a good pub, with a great pub feel about it.
Will not stay here again !
I will say - Kelly on our arrival was very nice and helpful- but that was it. It's a shame she wasn't there for the rest of our stay

We have just become aware of this review and are quite disappointed to hear that Col did not enjoy his time with us. We take on board all his comments, and are striving to make some changes at the Hotel that should make the experience much nicer. Our Hotel accommodation is currently undergoing some refurbishments, with new bathrooms and updated rooms being constructed along with a modern guest lounge with facilities. You can check our progress on our facebook page.
