“" Fantastic B&B "”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 29, 2012

Staying at the Bluestone Grain Store has been one of my best B&B experiences. The rooms are large, very private, well fitted out. Bed was very comfortable and the shutters and thick walls meant you can sleep in undisturbed. Breakfasts were delicious with even freshly picked raspberries. Helen and Ron were very helpful with advice on where to go and what to see, making my stay truly enjoyable.

So glad I stayed here. I came to Deloraine for restaurant red (it was closed!) and found this fantastic b&b with everything I love. White sheets, fluffy towels, comfy beds, magnificent views, a cinema room, fabulous bath, fantastic hosts and brilliant home cooked eggs Benedict with local smoked salmon. I want to live here!!

This was the last night of a week long driving trip with my wife around Tasmania, in company with another couple.

Fantastic facility, beautifully restored old building with contemporary design. Most comfortable rooms and beds, warm, perfectly fitted out by Ron.

The rates were very competitive, and the breakfast was fantastic. In particular the Coffee. The best coffee we had enjoyed for the whole week travelling around Tas.

We could have spent the week there. In fact Deloraine is so well positioned it would make a perfect HQ for trips out to the attractions.

This is best B&B I have ever stayed at.

Room Tip: Multi-story so not good for the frail.

I stayed at the Bluestone Grain Store in April 2012, with my husband and two young daughters. Helen and Ron were a delight, the breakfasts were absolutely fabulous and the accommodation beautiful. The building has been beautifully and thoughtfully renovated/restored, and rooms are stylish, spacious and comfortable. Deloraine was a great area to base ourselves for some exploration of the north, it's very central and the surrounding roads are great, the towns quirky and interesting and with great food. We definitely hope to return and would not hesitate to stay here again. After our stay Helen even posted my husbands shirts which he accidentally left behind! Probably our most memorable accommodation while on an 8 night driving trip of the island.

Marvellous recent conversion of historic bluestone building into a very comfortable Bed & Breakfast with 3 guest rooms, in a quiet location just a convenient walk from town centre. Spacious bedroom with en-suite, very nicely decorated, as well as use of a common lounge/media room. Hosts were very friendly, and provided a great breakfast. Wished we could have stayed longer than planned! Only drawback is for any guests not happy with stairs up one level to the bedrooms.

Room Tip: All similar.

We stayed two nights at the end of our tour around Tasmania at the Bluestone Grain Store. The property is thoughtfully restored and decorated with lovely finishing touches by Helen and her husband Ron. Would not hesitate to recommend this B&B ( more like Boutique hotel) . We stayed in very good hotels all the way but none of them matched the level of care here. Breakfast was the best of any places we stayed at; from perfectly cooked omelet to eggs benedict , home baked muffins and home made jams. Ron made us the best latte . Will not hesitate to recommend .

Room Tip: Room 1 has a bath tub.

We kicked off our Tassie driving adventure with two nights here.

With their unintrussive yet warm manner, their loving ly restored grain store and their great cooking, Helen and Ron set the bar very high for the rest of our holiday!

We had our three children with us and they were comfortably accommodated. We didn't feel at all precious (though there were plenty of gorgeous things about). Helen had each of them mastering the pool table quickly and seemed to relish having a starving teenager to ply with her delicious pancakes.

Plenty of tips about local attractions and dining.

A lovely relaxing start to out trip.
