We stayed in "The Boathouse" for two nights and found that it was both clean and well maintained. The surroundings were relaxing and we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
It is very much an honesty system - we were
shown to our unit, we found the fire was roaring, we were shown where the wood pile was, given a choice of books and DVD's and then we were left alone and saw no-one else at all for two full days. Even when it was time to leave, we saw no one....... just packed, left the key in the room and came home!
We made use of the facilities having brought our own food and plenty of drink!
The beach walk involves purely rock hopping as the there is no sand, so may not suit all people but was nice nonetheless.
The only fault or complaint I have, was being woken early both mornings by the free roaming Rooster announcing to the world that it was time to start a new day - little did he know, it was not!!
For two people only, the Boathouse may be overkill, as it is huge and has many rooms but we thought it was well worth it. We went for a romantic, secluded 2 day break and that was exactly what we had.
I would recommend to all seeking the same.
