I remember visiting the sea life centre as a kid when it really was the sea life centre aquarium.
it was enjoyable to return to this place which still basically looks the same with some extensions.
this place always looks busy and although you can walk around Bicheno and never see a soul the sea life centre always seems full and you often have to book to get in. must be something to do with the excellent food and views.[and staff service too]
Apart from the food the gift shop is rather nice and there are some photos of Bicheno's history and lot more detail available if you get a chance to talk to the local staff members who have been there for many years.
I simply don't understand why people complain about the décor..it looked terrific..it must be an age thing with the younger folk who prefer those awful soulless glass, marble and tile structures having withdrawals at seeing real wood and varnish rather than grey paint and stark open chasms of buildings that so many architects seem to dazzle us into boredom with these days
