This establishment is on a rollercoaster - some days good, some days bad. As locals we've eaten and had drinks there a lot with, at times, great food. Recent lunch 80% of our tables meals were just warm at best. A week later ordered a pizza with the addition of mushrooms. Pizza arrived with a side jug of mushroom gravy!!! Drinks and food are quite pricey. We used to enjoy a bottle of white wine for around $20 (not big beer drinkers), but they've ceased stocking 'everyday' wines and the cheapest is now just under $30. Story from staff - can't get supplies. The hotel is owned by Spirit Hotels (read Coles) and if they can't source an everyday white or red wine, well draw your own conclusions. Strangely the licensed AFL club down the road offers reasonable meals and has a nice Hunter Valley (NSW) white wine for $15.
Yes, the tavern has a great outlook, but it is still a pub (Sports Bar, Pool Table, TAB, Keno, Poker Machines) with indoor/outdoor bistro dining and lounge bar. Tourists may well enjoy this establishment on their holiday visit, but, as locals, we are getting tired of the negatives.
