We organised a birthday dinner for 14 people. We couldn't have been happier. Everyone's meal was supherb and the mixture of different flavoured bruschettas to start with were very tasty & brimming with toppings of crab meat, roasted lamb or the traditional. Delicious! My choice of the Reef & Beef for main meal was cooked to perfection and, at Matt's suggestion, we had the their home made Mud Cake as the birthday cake. This came out with candles flaming and was then served warm and it was absolutely amazing - just melted in your mouth! The staff were very attentive and the whole ambience of dining outside was great, even though it wasn't really that warm. I thought the prices were very reasonable for most menu choices - you would pay the same for up market pub meals back home and get nowhere near the quality! Can highly recommend this restaurant for a dining experience, or for any special occasions.

Title of this review was penned by my 12 and 14 year old sons who thought the food and overall experience great. The food was excellent with the prawn fettucine, rib eye and pork cutlet excellent.
Service was a little mixed but overall well above that expected. Would recommend this as a great family restaurant

What a great find this family restaurant was! We dined on a Monday night and it was CHOCKERS! Even though almost full to the brim, we were kindly told they would make room for us if we could wait 10 mins.

The wait was not a problem as the food was worth it and the service was friendly, personal and attentive. You can tell the staff take pride in their business.

The menu is initially confusing and without a theme (bit of traditional Australian, bit of Asian, bit of Italian, etc.) but the beer list is extensive and the kids menu has real food (not junk!). The chicken breast, prawn and avocado risotto and stussi balls we feasted on we're delicious.

To top it off the prices are good value compared to the overpriced menus around palm cove & surrounds. I would highly recommend making your way over to blue moon grill at trinity beach.

Waited too long to be seated, too long for order.
Garlic bread doughy, undercooked grease ball.
Onion rings, separated & overcooked more grease!!!
Main meal chicken breast was like soup on bed of pumpkin mash with jus for 4 tables. Didn't finish.
Rib eye cooked as per liking but veg had a funky alkaline flavour, couldn't eat. Don't be dying of thirst!!!! You only get one chance.

As you will see from nearly 400 reviews - we very really make comments on ones opinion when placed in this forum.

However in this instance we felt it is necessary to point out that our self proclaimed "fussy - well dined" food critic may be on a some what of a search and destroy mission. I would ask that all users please take note that out of 14 contributions given more are bad than good.

Blue Moon Grill does not either accept nor deny this experience occurred with this young lady - however as the experience was never passed on to our staff so that something could be done about it - We are only left with the facts.

I would respectfully ask that while we respect your opinion regardless of good or bad - please remember that we are a family run restaurant - owned and operated by our family - we genuinely care about your experience and genuinely want you to be happy.

We are not a multinational cooperation who just takes money from you and doesn't care. When some one is unhappy it genuinely hurts us.

So respectfully - when you next decide to swing your well worn trip advisor "wrecking ball" through a genuinely caring and family run small business - perhaps you should consider the consequences of who it is your hurting.

Both myself and my staff would have done anything to make you happy because we care about our product and ultimately your overall experience. I am sorry that yours apparently was not and had to become this. I am truly sorry and based on your past - wish you more luck with your future dining experiences.

While the outdoor tables are quite neat and the service and food presentation very good, the food was quite flavorless we thought, but then we thought that of most dishes in Australia. Some rave about the desserts, but the best we could say for them is the menu had them sounding WONDERFUL, but the actual product, to an American's taste was awful. To be fair we did not try them all. The rhubarb and apple crumble was basically a ramekin of literally BLENDED rhubarb, apple and sweetener..not even any thickener that we could detect, just a sauce. The "crumble" appeared to be a very light skiff of finely grated plain bread crumbs with a little sweetener and cinnamon...served warm with what appeared to be grocery store custard sauce and a little whipped cream. Both the custard and the cream were thicker than the compote. Quite sour and soupy overall. The chocolate mud dessert WAS gluten free, but also was a sort of frothy gooey gel, which did have a nice fudge flavor, but a revolting texture. Like most Australian restaurants everything was alle carte and very expensive, but given the lovely menu descriptions we went away feeling cheated and I don't often give bad reviews.
