Today we took the Caloundra Cruises Eco Tour. Great day, Chris our host Was knowledgeable with stories of the area, telling us about the fauna and flora as well as the local history. A great way to experience the area, with like minded travelers. Even though I am almost a local from north Brisbane area still enjoyed the relaxing day

We went on the "Eco Cruise" which was approx 2.5 hrs in length.

The cruise was nice and staff were great.

However, we did not feel that the "Eco Cruise" had much to offer. Perhaps it was because it was winter? We cruised passed Bribie Island and saw much of the regions natural areas. Apart from mangroves and some trees, we saw very little birds, fish and other wildlife.

In hindsight, I would have preferred to take the regular, shorter cruise.

Overall, this was a nice experience.

My friends from Sydney and I set off on a partly cloudy morning to cruise the Pumicestone Passage for 90 minutes.I forgot the camera which was a shame. We ventured acrossed to Bribie Island and there sitting on the National Park sign was a sea eagle and further along was more birdlife. Then we cruised towards Bulcock Beach with full commentary about the area as we went.Stopped at the Maloja Jetty for a short time but not long enough to get off for refreshments(nowhere to get some anyway).Back across towards Bribie and the rain came down which was a shame.Up the canals and back to PELICAN WATERS TAVERN where the MEALS ARE ALWAYS GREAT.I would like to do this cruise again on a sunny day and hear all the commentary properly as some people were talking a lot.
