“Perfect for a weekend getaway”
Reviewed October 23, 2011

We stayed for 2 nights in a one bedder on the 5th floor - ocean view.
We found the place just fabulous! Very modern, open, clean, spacious, and the large balcony was perfect to relax on, rain or shine!

Pool and sauna were great, though i agree with some other reviews it may be a tad small in peak time. The BBQ area near the pool was large and clean, and we were glad to see people making use of the BBQs, as well as us.

The location is perfect. So close to everything, we didnt use the car once!

Overall, a VERY enjoyable stay, and we will be back. Have already recommended Monaco to others.

Room Tip: Above the 4th or 5th floor to get the best ocean views.

My husband and i recently stayed for 3 nights at this resort and appreciated the time immensely.

Were celebrating our 10th anniversary and needed some R and R. Great location for us. Close to both shops and beach boardwalk. Shingle Inn restaurant right in building for morning coffee if you prefer bought to plunger provided in rooms.

We had a 1 bedroom unit on the 9th floor on southern side of the building. Did have a few issues with overly loud guests or unit owners teenage children one evening for about an hour but you can't help what happens in another building close by!

The view from that level was fabulous. Enjoyed the sunsets immensely. Very private inside in lounge room and great views from bedroom. Of course you are overlooked to some some degree on the balcony but you get that in built up areas. Furniture and fittings of excellent and quality standard. Completely stocked and huge kitchen. Awesome compared to other dinky half kitchens we've had to contend with at other resorts.
Bathroom had spa bath and full walk in shower. Very nice again. Laundry certainly adequate for two people.

Only issue, and this is pretty standard for us, is that the bed was on the firm side. Probably standard in all resort type situations.

We don't use swimming pools but I can see that this resorts swimming pool might be little on the small side for some guests with families and especially at peak seasons.

We only saw the check in staff our entire stay, no cleaners but they were in very efficient, friendly and helpful.

Oh yes, the car park was brilliant. Allocated parking to which we thought was a bonus. In the past we have stayed at places that had insufficient parking and was first come first parked basis!

Overall, fantastic place to stay. Would highly recommend!

Had a fabulous stay here. The views out over the water are gorgeous and the facilities are top notch. The lovely lady in reception was really helpful and our room on the fourth floor had everything we needed. Enjoyed the local Sunday markets only a short walk away. Will definitely return.

A little bit of magic. There are just not enough superlatives to describe the Monaco at Caloundra. The views are spectacular. The accommodation is five star and the service is simply out of this world. And if you need to de-stress simply walk into the foyer and say hello to any of the friendly staff. The rest of your stay will be simply paradise. Jen and I had a two night stay and couldn't wait to get back for our recent five night stay. We shall return, time and time again.
Seasoned travellers.

Our group of 12 ladies attending Dragons Abreast National Regatta stayed at Monaco Resort, 6 in 3/bedroom Penthouse & 6 in 3/bedroom apt. I was lucky enough to score the penthouse, how lucky was I, with views over Bribie Island and Pumicestone Passage and beyond to Glasshouse Mountains, breathtaking. Walking distance to shops & lovely walkways. The service was excellent, we all had a bed each, (2 roll away which probably could have been a bit better quality with innerspring but no one complained). a blocked toilet was very quickly fixed. As this is a new Resort there was everything you could possibly need and the decor was lovely. Drinks on the wide verandah were enjoyed by all at the end of the day watching the sun go down over the Glass House Mountains. Breakfast can be enjoyed downstairs at Shingle Inn or the many cafes nearby.

Room Tip: Higher the better for views

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the 6th floor, having chosen this apartment for the views. We were not disappointed as we had incredible views over the Pumicestone Passage. There was constant actively with both large and small ships and boats passing constantly. The view could be enjoyed from inside in poorer weather or from the large deck.
The apartment is fairly new and very well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable and there was a second television in the bedroom. We had plenty of space and the bathroom/laundry facilities were excellent. It was quiet but with access directly onto the main street with many great dining options without needing to drive. The supermarkets and shopping centres were a brief stroll away as was the beach and the cinema.
The rate we paid was very reasonable for such a stylish apartment. Parking was underneath the building with individual car spaces. The building was also very secure so that we could safely leave our Ipad, camera etc when not needed.
There was also a gym and a pool area which would be lovely in warmer weather.
Overall great value and a wonderful view!

My husband and I had a two night stay in November 2010 and loved it so much, we went back for a three night stay this month. Monaco is a lovely new building with fantastic views. We were on the 7th floor in November and the 9th this visit. Both times we could see a cruiseship passing by Caloundra. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and were able to organise a late checkout which made the stay just that little bit more relaxing. There's lots of restaurants to choose from and the Sunday Markets in the main streets are worth a visit. We're already talking about our next stay at Monaco.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor to take advantage of the view. Above Floor 5 is preferable.
