“BEWARE DO NOT STAY HERE”
Reviewed February 21, 2012

Please do not waste your money staying here. We booked to stay here 22 Jan - 26 Jan 2012. Unfortunately i paid before i looked at the apartment. I was very disappointed. It was filthy the fans had years worth of dust on them, so did the pictures on the walls. The stove top was disgusting it was rusty and very dirty ( i have thrown out better ones when renovating ) The cupboard under the vanity in the bathroom had water all over the shelf, There were skid marks in the toilet, black hairs on the towels on our bed, kitchen cupboard doors missing, laundry trough was very rusty and door was missing. The worst thing was the vent in the bathroom i don't think it had ever been cleaned from when it was first put in, it was totally clogged and i mean clogged. Wish i had taken photos!!!!! When we saw the manager and asked for a refund he refused to give us our money back. He said that there was nothing wrong with the place. When i told him that i had stayed in better backpackers he go really nasty!!!! ( his wife had done the cleaning ) we had a heated argument and he threw us out into the rain. Not a nice man. We are still waiting to get our money back, we have contacted our credit card company. Our unit number was no.2 We ended staying down the other end of the strip in a beautiful apartment it was called The Esplanade so do yourselves a favour and skip this place and go there. This place could be a lovely place to stay if they got rid of the manager and totally renovated the apartments.

We had a two-bedroom apartment at this property for two nights over the busy Christmas-New Year holiday period. Our hearts sank when we walked through the door and found it to be dirty, with cupboard doors hanging off hinges, covers missing off of light switches, globes blown in the bathroom, and long dark hairs attached to pillows, shower walls and the broom, more hairs on the floors, the laundry filthy, the carpets covered in hairs.... You get the idea. There was no airconditioning, so the humid, by-the-sea location had left anything metal rusty. We left the balcony door open as much as possible, but cigarette smoke from the people on the balcony below drifted into the lounge. We could not park in the underground carpark because the car space for our unit was only suited to a motorbike, or maybe a Smartcar.

I have not rated this apartment as "terrible", however, because there were a couple of "positives". These were: location - a lovely spot across the road from the beach and a short walk from a supermarket and good restaurants; the young managers were friendly and helpful; price was reasonable.

This could so easily be a great property: replace the cleaners, and spend some time and a little bit of money of basic maintenance.

We stayed for 8 nights at the Burleigh point apartments from Boxing Day onward.
We had stayed here 6 years ago and our memory of it was better than what it had become. We love the location- opposite the beach, close to shopping supplies and close to my parents home which was the main reason to stay. The outside had been painted and cleaned which was nice- although the owners had ripped out most of the tropical gardenand installed swimming pool fencing everywhere- so it had lost a lot of its simple charm. Work had not been done to enhance its simple style but to comly with regulations.

The apartments appear to be individually owned -we requested ground floor which we had had before. We had a different apartment this time- No. 7- and it was tragically in need of an upgrade. Cracked tiles in the bathroom, old old kitchen, needed painting, broken blinds, the lounge furniture you would find in a bad junk shop..... very sad. The managers residence strays out into the pool area so it feels like you are in someones back yard (which you are).

The manager was nice- we didnt bother complaining as we couldnt be bothered and it didnt upset us that much-it was cheapish which we needed-the towels and linen were clean. We wanted to stay (my sister and her family being in an adjacent hotel) but sadly it will be the last time.
great location - needs a different owner with different sensibility. Sad to see a simple apartment rental just become awful.

Room Tip: Pay a bit more and stay a little further down the esplanade.

We stayed in the apartments in December 2011. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor. It had all the amenities we needed - full kitchen, laundry, secure parking, balcony with sea views and two bathrooms.
The apartment was clean and comfortable. Michael the manager was very approachable and friendly.
The location was great - across the road from a patrolled beach, with a long walking/cycle track parallel to the beach. Location was reasonably quiet although some traffic noises from the main road nearby. We thought the apartment offered great value for money.
There are no lifts so a second floor apartment is not for everyone, but we had no problems.

There is a Coles supermarket nearby as well as a few food outlets. We had dinner one night at the nearby steak house but found the food to be not very good. The Tandoori restaurant provided a tasty take away. There is a tavern next door but we did not see/hear of any problems.

I just stayed from 3 November 2011 for 10 days. I was a little concered of what to expect as the rates were reasonable compared to most. Well I was happily surprised to find the unit was just what we needed. We made ourselves quite at home and were impressed with the full clean we received half through our stay. The location is great, across from the esplanade and beach, a 2 minute walk to Coles supermarket and the bus stop. We were very happy with our stay and plan on staying here again on our next trip.

Room Tip: I think all 3rd floor apartments had ocean views, some ground floor were blocked by a neighbouring p...

Booked this place last October 2011 and unfortunately they were going through some renovations. Just a bit of a hassle though for a lovely location in front of the beach. There are many apartments along the beach but they have the most reasonable pricing. The pool isn't that fantastic but if you're staying for the beach then you wouldn't need the pool.
Supermarket/grocery and bus stops nearby. Very helpful staff! Gave us some tips on where to go out at night.
This is around a quiet neighborhood though. I think this is just for families or for people who want a quiet holiday. Works for me :)
