This gorgeous little restaurant/wine bar within the Ulladulla Guest House, is well worth the small walk (about 100m) from either the harbour or from the main street.
We had the luxury of spending 2 nights at the hotel and had 2 evening meals and 2 breakfasts there. My only word is "Amazing"
Night one - our anniversary (10 years) we decided to go full hog and order the seafood banquet (24 hours notice required) which was 139 + 49 for a full local lobster (for 2). It was totally worth the money. A lot of seafood platters tend to go for a lot of fried/crumbed dishes. Not this one! It came out in two lots - first of all the cold... there were 2 different types of prawns, tiger and king; there were loads of oysters, a full delicious lobster; on top of a rocket/spinach salad, with plenty of lemons and parsley. Then the hot plate arrived.... creamy garlic prawns (to die for) on top of rice, steamed mussels (yum) scallops that were caramalised and served on top of the most amazingly wonderful "killer" chilli salsa (had extra serving of the salsa because that was so nice); there was salt and pepper squid; battered flat head, prawn and crab filled mushrooms; and a piece of grilled fish (I cant remember what kind) this again came with lemons and limes and homemade tartare and seafood sauce. The whole meal was finished off with a coffee and a little choccy heart. It was divine!!!!!!!!!
Saturday we had the farmhouse brekkie (the works) and hubs had his with chilli scrambled eggs and had a choice of pastries, fruit, toast, homemade jam, cereal, and juice - basically help yourself, as well as unlimited filter coffee or tea.
Saturday evening, we had the mezze menu, where you order from the menu approx. 3 per person, and share them. The menu is extensive, and the talent of Richard the chef is quite frankly, outstanding. At a very reasonable $11 per dish, it was a pretty inexpensive meal for what we actually received.
The hotels wine list is extensive, and there is something for everyone
Breakfast on Sunday we decided on the Guest House Signature dish. Which consisted of Creamed eggs with cheese on top of an English Muffin, with smoked salmon. My mouth exploded when I tasted this, it was phenominal!
We had 4 meals in total, and every single one was spectacular. Will we return? A resounding YES! Wonderful friendly and attentive staff and a brilliant set of kitchen staff!! Fabulous!
