I have visited the south coast of NSW dozens of times over the past 30 years and the great disappointment has always been the lack of a decent restaurant. Cupitt's corrects that. The setting is ideal: among vinevards overlooking a lake. It is only minutes from the nearest town but it is like another world. The service is friendly without being over the top, the food is excellent (although some main courses would be enough for two or even three) and the estate grown wines very good. The owner has spent a lot of time in rural France -- and it shows with the emphasis on local produce. Our planned quick lunch turned into a long and happy afternoon.
