This little restaurant is a cute family owned restaurant, with lovely efficient service and quite nice and authentic Chinese food. Atmosphere a bit dim but it was still cheerful experience. Shame that is is closing down on the 30th June.

The food is fantastic for Chinese cuisine in Australia. It is mainly Hong Kongnese in style, but does have great spicy dishes too. It is fairly reasonably priced, and the serves are large. Soups and entree from 4 dollar. Steemed rice is 2.50 per person and they keep it comming. Main dishes are priced from 7 to 19 dollar, averaging around 13. Tell them if you like it spicy! The service is better than other Chinese restaurants at comparable price and size. They will make dishes not on the menu if they know them. They serve alcohol in the restaurant but not with take away or delivery. The ambience is ok, above average but foul be better.

We live around the corner from The Spot, where Dragon Village is and so we have a couple of favourite dishes and we stick to them, getting take-away perhaps once or twice a month.

Dragon Village works really well as a little family-run Chinese take-away. The dishes are reasonably-priced, there is good variety and the staff are really friendly. If you're after some pleasant take-away food, then Dragon Village will do nicely.

As for dining-in, that might not be everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I find the restaurant's dining area and it's whole ambience somewhat adorable: it reminds me of the Chinese restaurants I grew up with in Sydney in the 1980s. The intererior is a little dated and the furniture (etc) spartan and functional, but that's part of the place's charm. Look, to be honest, if you want a dine-in Chinese restaurant experience, I would suggest going over to Chinatown or, at least, to Bondi Junction, but if you're happy to go along with the rough-around-the-edges family charm of Dragon Village, then give it a whirl.

One note of caution: whenever I've been there, I've seen in the little fridge behind the counter chilled cask wine, so I think that items on the restaurant's 'wine list' might come from the cask. I'd stick with soft-drink or BYO.
