My Executive Room was on the top floor in the rear wing so away from the busy street in front. The room was newly refurbished with quality tiling, bathroom fittings etc. Whole room was spotless and well-presented. Only downside was open stairs up to the landing as it rained the whole time. I got one of the treasured spots in the garage by inquiring early the day before.
Try The Montpellier Public House across the street. Interesting menu in British country pub style and quality food.

Room Tip: Rooms in rear wing are quiet. Inquire early to request parking space.

We stayed at Randwick Lodge for 15 days and would not recommend it to anyone staying there for more than 2-3 days. Basic room cleaning was supposed to be every third day, when we complained after the fifth day they told us it would be every fourth day, overall we had two room cleanings in 15 days. This also means that we had to buy toilet paper because we didn't get any from the staff. There is a laundry room and you are supposed to get coins at the front desk, but they never had any and sent us to a supermarket to get coins. There is a kitchen that all guests can use but it only has a microwave, no cooking facility/stove. Our bed was on wheels you could not fix so it moved around all the time. Bottom line: If you are looking for a lodge for extended stay and need to be fresh in the morning to go to work, don't come here. If you look for a conveniently located place as a tourist and plan to stay for a couple of days only, it might be ok, but you still spend a lot of money for basically no service at all.

Randwick Lodge was good budget accommodation. Nice atmosphere and close to shops. Unfortunately the lack of parking was an issue for us. The web site does not clearly explain there is no parking. There are ten car parks for forty odd rooms. Although told our name was on a list it was obvious we had no chance of one. For Sydney residents this is probably not a problem but coming from interstate and not knowing the area it was.

My wifes sister had to have a major op at womens hospital, we need somewhere close & cheap. Randwick Lodge is just right, ( 5 to 10 min walk to hospital room). The exec room are modern & at the back away from the main road at the front. Parking can be a problem when busy but you can park at the hospital car park ( off street & secure $ 21/ 24hr). We spent most of our time at RHW so we found the main cafe at the hospital had very good food at a very good price. WILL stay there again no worries & will recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Exec rooms are more modern

We are regular stayers at Randwick Lodge because it is close to UNSW, an easy bus trip to the city, walk to Coogee Beach and to The Spot for dinner and movies. Nearby Belmore Rd also has food and shopping. The rooms vary a lot in size and condition because it is a heritage building that has been fitted out as accommodation. There is a kitchen with microwave and toaster, and a laundry. Rooms have fridge, kettle, plates, bowls and cutlery for breakfast or basic meals. WiFi is slow, but works. Some public parts of the building could be cleaner, but the rooms are fine. Overall it has a pleasant feel and is a good place to stay for a night or a week.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are small but quiet. Rooms at the front are big but on the street side.

My husband and I checked into Randwick Lodge after being unable to stay at our usual Sydney hotel. I was a little wary considering the price, but was pleasantly surprised by the location, quietness and efficeincy of the the staff. Our room was quite basic but included everyrhing necessary for an overnight stay (except tissues) and we had a peaceful night's slepp despite our room overlooking the courtyard. The staff remained helpful and courteous even when we forgot our key and had to be let in after hours. I would thoroughly recommend Randwick Lodge if you need somewhere inexpensive for a short stay.

Check in was easy, lovely lady on the desk. Rooms were very clean, it is a no frills kind of accomodation but very good value for a Sydney hotel. Parking was our problem but we were told in advance that it was first in best dressed. Will stay again!
