A wonderful park amongst nature in a busy city environment. For a family of 5 at a cost of $39 per night on a powered site, you couldn't miss. Clean amenities, close to train station. Highly recommend.

We stayed in a powered tent site and were pleasantly surprised at the generous size of the site. For a large park which was fairly full we were pleased to have relatively free access to the camp kitchen facilities that were adequate for our needs. The amenities block was large and comfortable but could use a coat of paint in the showers. Having said that we had good water pressure and hot showers so no complaints. Location was great - a walk through the parklands takes you to the Lane Cover River and it was a pretty location which connects to paths and roads for joggers, cyclists and of course kayakers in the river itself. One of the more appealing aspects was being able to take the train from North Ryde station (about 10-15 minutes walk from the park) into the city. Saved us in traffic congestion, city parking fees and we were in the CBD in under 30 minutes. Would stay here again and it has to be one of the better camping destinations in Sydney given its adequate facilities and location.

Stayed here for our holiday in Sydney and found it clean, reasonably priced and family friendly. We pitched our own tent and was pleasantly surprised to see a camp kitchen right near us, with facilities cleaned daily and three fridges to store our perishables, with a great system implemented. There are a number of barbecues and toilet facilities dotted throughout the park and a clean pool and a tv room. The train is a ten minute walk away taking you into the CBD within 20 minutes. We found it much easier than trying to navigate traffic and pay for tolls and parking.
The only down side is there are no supermarkets within walking distance of the caravan park, and there is only one Italian restaurant a short walk up the road. The reception however, stocks basics, like milk bread and emergency supplies.

Close to the city, with wildlife! Possums, bush turkey, etc.

Cabins were clean and tidy, spacious, linen etc great.

Good value for money, $150 a night for a nice two bedroom cabin with kitchen, bathroom, lounge etc.

We have just got back from a week in a cabin in this place. It was a very comfortable, enjoyable stay. It's not cheap but it's good value as the cabins are well appointed and well designed. We were part of a group of 15 bushwalkers doing walks in and around the Hornsby/ Hawkesbury River area. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Although not far out from the centre of Sydney, the park is in bushland with lots of very 'friendly' wildlife - kookaburra's, bush turkey's, rosella's etc. We drove up from Melbourne, however we did not use our car while we were there. North Ryde station is only a 10 minute walk away. A day ticket for Seniors is only $2.50 and is valid for unlimited use on trains, buses and ferries - it's got to be the bargain of the century.
The only downside is the fact that the park is close to a Sydney airport flightpath which means that every few minutes a jet is audible but not deafeningly so. Fortunately there is a night curfew on flights.
All in all, very convenient and thoroughly recommended

Stayed here with my girlfriend as she wanted to go camping. Our time was limited and Lane Cove is perfect with being close to the city but you wouldn't know it. The cabin was great with everything we needed and was right on the doorstep to the National Park and it's many different walks.

Great place to go for a night or weekend if you either want to be in a caravan, tent, cabin or clamping.

We stayed here while in visiting Sydney and loved it. The showers were great, good camp kitchen and really helpful staff. Rainbow loreekeets visited us while we had breakfast and even landed on my daughter. Such a beautiful place and we took advantage on the free night tour which was fun. Definitely a great place if you are visiting Sydney or trying to get away from it.
