I stayed at Melville House while in Lismore for university workshops. There were also 3 other people from the same course staying in the other rooms, which was great because we could study and watch tv together at night.
The position was absolutely perfect, being a 5min walk from the university and about 10mins from the local shopping square. We had our own marble bathrooms (with fridges and tea/coffee supplies) and a range of shampoo/ body wash products were available if you didn't bring your own (also a hairdryer(!!) and kids' bath toys).
The breakfast supplied was wonderful (including cereals, toast, spreads, yoghurt, fruit, bacon and eggs, and probably other options if you asked) and we had some use of the kitchen for dinner.
The rooms were clean and comfy, and the general decor was beautiful and quirky.
Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool or backyard as it was raining, but the general ambience of the hotel was friendly and inclusive. Helen, the owner, was lovely, and made sure that everyone was having a good stay.
I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm here for uni workshops :-)More
