We booked this restaurant before reading the other reviews on this website. After reading the reviews, I thought I'd ring and cancel the booking. I'm glad we didn't ! The reviews are so polarised, one wonders if the waiters have different styles on different days.
We rang & booked in the early afternoon of the same day for early dinner 18:30 Saturday night of the Australia Day LWE. We arrived on time and we're warmly greeted by a most polite young lady waitress. Water was immediately offered and the menus followed shortly thereafter. There was no rush to take our orders and the service throughout the evening was attentive without being imposing. The noise level was not high, nor was it so quiet as to wonder if our conversation would be overheard by others.
The complementary soup was delicate. We ordered the pork & rabbit terrine & the beetroot cured salmon as entrees. Then the seared salmon and the eye fillet for mains. For dessert we had lemon/lime tart with piña colada sorbet and the chocolate tart with rose water sorbet. The restaurant filled by the time we were up to our main course. The food was delicious. The servings an appropriate size. The coffee at meal's end was a good strength & milk not scalded.
Our experience was very pleasant. We left at 21:00 deciding that we'll brink the teenage kids next time and hoping the same service and ambience prevails.
