1. We booked a Superior Room - 2 Queen Beds, given key to Room 401 with King Size Bed, when queried at Reception ( Michelle) we were told we had been upgraded to a De-Luxe Room, and no rooms with 2 beds were available, we could live with that!!!
2.On 2nd night about 2-00am we heard Drip, Drip, Drip, Ceiling was leaking and noise kept us awake. In the Morning we reported the matter and went to Breakfast.
3. On checking out we were pleasantly surprised to be credited with one night and the evening meal we had on the first night, but that did not make we did not leave feeling that we had enjoyed a pleasant Break.
4. Comments;- Car Parking is a disaster, no area set aside for residents Not attending a Seminar.
The Bath/ shower arrangement is an accident waiting to happen, shower squre has dimpled floor but bath is slippery, and it hard to get into the shower without using the Bath section. ( Try It )

Dear Reviewer, thank you for the feedback and apologises that your stay was marred by the water leak. The local area was impacted by torrential rains that weekend and some drainage was unable to cope. Your booking had been upgraded to a deluxe room with the best of intentions by the front office team and when you reported the water leak the next day a refund was made as a gesture of apology.
There is extensive car parking provided albeit spread over several levels and is more than usually sufficient for both hotel and conference guests.
We will make contact with you offline for a further discussion on this.
Regards,

After some difficulty in finding the "Fairmont". ( The GW Highway sign not followed up with side street signage ? ) We experienced good service, with clean and well appointed facilities. Breakfast was possibly the best fare encounted for a very long time.

Great location, opposite Leura golf corse. We arrived around 1 pm and our room wasn't ready, they said we'll not have to wait for to long. But it was after nearly one hour before we could check in. We stayed on the 2nd floor and I must say rooms was nicely refurbish. We ask them to bring us a bucket with ice for our champagne and they said no problem, that will be $15.- (not even Fairmont at Lake Louise charge $15.00 for 1/2 full bucket of ice). Dinner for four of us in Eucalyptus restaurant was nice but over priced, if you have a car it would be much better restaurants out there in Blue Mountains. Would I go back? Yes, for a night or two only.

My son and I came here for a Monday to Friday stay and didn't manage to utilise all the facilities on offer at the Fairmont because there are simply so many.

I know it isn't supposed to be a challenge to see if you can put a tick against trying everything this resort has available but as far as value for money goes even using half the facilities leaves you way in front.

We did manage to enjoy table tennis, a hit of squash on one of the two courts, multiple swims in both the massive indoor pool as well as the outdoor pool, (both heated although maybe not the outdoor one when we had a dip), hopped into both the indoor and outdoor spas as well as enjoying the mens sauna which you access via the men's change rooms, (same deal for the ladies).

We didn't quite get to sweat it out in the very well equipped gym or run around on one of the tennis courts, my son isn't a fan of snooker or pool so we skipped the two full sized tables in the billards room but saw others having a go.

There are also kids play rooms, pinball machines and enough board games to sink a ship.

The grounds themselves are extensive with about three man made lakes/ponds including koi carp and wild ducks and a host of great flora with something always flowering to take photos of, which I love doing. Didn't go a round of golf on the adjoining golf course but saw others zipping along in golf carts or having a leisurely stroll.

We did indulge in the large and comprehensive buffet breakfast 3 out of 4 mornings which meant we mainly skipped lunch although we were eating more fruit and healthy stuff from the big selection as the week moved on.

Three things to mention starting with the uniformly friendly and professional staff whether it was Pam from house keeping turning down our beds in the evening and having a friendly chat or Michelle from front desk bringing up my camera tripod to our room that I had absently left in the indoor pool area.

The wait staff in both Embers and Eucalypt were great and the trio that cover the concierge desk would be a credit to any hotel.

The second thing is the food and my boy and I like our food.

We had the buffet breakfast in Jamisons, fantastic, as well as dinner at Embers which is the bar with the huge 2 story high picture windows as well as one special meal in Eucalypt the fine dining restaurant which was outstanding. Go for the sand crab entree and lobster for mains if you're partial to seafood, they were both spectacular. My son had the mushroom consomme and the saltbush lamb and he didn't leave a drop or a crumb so also excellent.

Third point is the Deluxe room we had. Huge size, desk plus dining table for two and huge coffee table plus king bed plus sofa lounge and upholstered seat with feet seat plus bar area and lots of hanging space in wardrobe. Also Nespresso machine with comp pods, Twinings tea and ipod friendly clock radio, drssing gowns and slippers and more. Ours had balcony with chairs and occasional table and view into Jamison Valley.

I find this resort a great base from where we also went to the other side of Leura for bushwalks, (try Fortress Ridge on Mt Hay Rd),up to the Edge cinema for a movie as well as to Katoomba to the new art gallery and cultural/heritage centre on Parke St as well as a stroll around Leura shops.

We have been to the Fairmont before and we will be coming back. To management, staff and owners, keep up the great work.

Room Tip: The higher floors in the two wings may have views down the Jamison Valley.

The reception staff tried too hard to be professional and it felt insincere and tacky. We had the luxury suite the first night, fantastic! But then had to change rooms for our second night. "we will put you on the PRIORITY LIST so you don't wait too long, we will call you when your room is ready". It was a day of pouring rain so we didn't venture too far. Check in at 2pm, no call by 1:30 so we ask is our room ready, we are a "priority". No. 2:45pm, no call. So as we see countless people walking passed us with luggage we enquire if our room is finally ready. "Yes, it's ready..." Oh, so why weren't we called? "Blah blah blah, late check outs, blah blah, sorry here's two free drinks". Got up there and there was a massive leak (heavy rain). Nice room and a wonderful view. Then a blackout haha. Can't be helped, just glad we had our dinner.. Eucalypt restaurant really good. Fairmont fairly average.

Dear "Gazz44", thank you for the feedback which is appreciated and we were pleased you enjoyed many elements of your stay including our Eucalypt restaurant.
We do however need to clarify several of the comments you make. At the time of booking you were aware you would have to change rooms after the first night. At reception that morning you were asked if you would like your new room readied as a priority. The response was "no as you were heading out for the day". Hence the room not being available by the usual check in time of 2pm.
We do apologise for the issues caused by the power outage that night which effected not just the resort but sections of Leura. The torrential rain storm also caused some unexpected leaks thru the building.
We would look forward to welcoming you back.
Regards,

Geoffrey R York
