“A Katoomba must see & do”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

Long lines to get tickets are a bit off putting but the experience is worth it. The new cable train down the mountain is thrilling. At the base there is a great view of the three sisters. The boardwalk is easy to navigate along the valley floor. Kids love sitting on the mine pit donkey along the track. Tourists were clicking cameras everywhere. Rain forest looked healthy and well preserved.Take a picnic lunch to eat along the way in the various pavilions.Cable car back up the mountain overlooks orphan rock. Cafe at the top is popular for a hot chocolate or coffee. Extensive array of souveniers available.

“A great family day but get there early to beat the queues.”
Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

Things have improved a lot since the early 90s when i was here last time. The scenic railway and skyway are still amazing but the supporting infrastructure is now modern, clean and comprehensive. A word of warning for those travelling on weekends, though. By early afternoon, the parking lot is full and the queues are miles long with bus tour groups. Get there early for a discount and no queues!

“Get in early”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We arrived a little after 9am. Got great parking, an unlimited early birds ticket that was quite a deal cheaper and then didn't have to line up in any queues. In the middle of the day when it got busier we headed across on the Skyway and walked to the Three Sisters. A lovely day out especially in good weather!

“Cable car sardines”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

With two young grand children the long waits were not ideal. Then being crammed into cable cars like sardines was very unpleasant couldn't enjoy the ride or take photos. Scenic world need to invest in extra cable cars. Surely the tourists have been ripped off enough by now to invest on some improvements. Also inadequate parking.

I am sorry that you did not enjoy everything Scenic World has to offer. Scenic World recently made the largest investment in the history of the Blue Mountains with a $30M redevelopment of the world’s steepest incline railway, including the top and bottom stations. The new railway opened at Easter and has very well received by our visitors. Thank you for your comments, they are very important to us.
