I love this place! Great new library, easy to access with a pram, breast feeding friendly, amazing views from the library and fore court. Regular exhibitions, a small cafe (not as impressed with the cafe, not much variety, I would recommend going to one of the many other good cafe's in katoomba). Friendly staff. Above coles, pharmacy, liquor land, another cafe, travel agency, go vita, butcher.

This is a spectacular huge new Art Gallery, and World Heritage display, with a lovely cafe, a fabulous shop selling high end artistic functional and decorative work and a very modern library designed by a specialist who has designed international libraries, included. Just check out the view from the library upstairs. Wow, makes you want to curl up with a book on a misty day.

This weekend 7th and 8th Dec. is the last chance to see the Ben Quilty "After Afghanistan" exhibition. Next weekend is the opening on Friday 13th Dec of "The Air Up There" on Vintage Blue Mountains Tourism, which is on until 26th Jan., 2014. Also, there is a Paul Kelly, (famous Australian singer songwriter legend), interactive, portrait exhibition on at the moment in an adjoining space.

The World Heritage exhibition is equally spectacular and engrossing. The small entrance fee is well worth it for all exhibitions. Lots of other activities on depending on the day and programs arranged. A great misty day venue, but anytime. You will be very surprised.

Three of us visited the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre yesterday to see the Ben Quilty Afghanistan exhibit. This centre is just celebrating its first birthday now so everything is new. The building is very interesting with beautiful views out across the valley. It also houses a cafe and interesting gift shop. Of course, the highlight for us were Ben Quilty's paintings - but of this is the calibre of exhibits I imagine I will be back. We also visited the World Heritage exhibit which was full of interactive displays etc. Just a great place to spend an hour or so.

We noticed in a Tourist magazine that the Ben Quilty exhibition was showing. Having missed it at the Tweed Gallery, we were thrilled to see it at the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre. What a wonderful complex! We also viewed the fabulous Mountains display/exhibition. The gallery is worth going to, just to see that magnificent white beech table-stunning!

This was a real surprise as I stumbled on it by mistake. It has council administration, library, cafe, gift shop, gallery and display centre all in one modern building with good access to modern shopping centre and is certainly worth a browse.
