“Ideal and Idyllic”
Reviewed January 15, 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Atelier is all you need for a Blue Mountain's retreat. It is wonderfully set up and extremely comfortable. We were there in extremely hot weather but Atelier is always comfortable. It's only a short walk to the shops and cafes and yet it's so amazingly quiet, peaceful and secluded.

“Cosy, comfortable and close to Resurants and shops”
Reviewed October 8, 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Our children booked this accommodation for my wife and myself as a surprise birthday present to enjoy some relaxing veg out time together - and Atelier provides just that. The location was quiet and private. The cabin was cosy and effective heating was provided by a push button gas heater. There was also a wood fire which provided that "little cabin in the mountains" feel of an evening and the glow could be seen from the bedroom area. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. There are also louvers to adjust ventilation if needed and electric blankets are fitted, again if needed. The spa worked well and the bathroom was warmed well by leaving the door open. The Kitchen was well equipped. A smart TV is provided with WiFi and there is also a collection of DVDs covering a range of interests. We actually watched two of the comedy videos.
Gated off street parking is provided but we chose to leave our car on the street as it felt such a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The Address is only 5 to 10 minutes walk to the main shops and restaurants - but there are some hills on the way, although there is a short cut next to the fire station we found out later. I would happily recommend Atelier as a quiet, private, comfortable base to either veg out or explore Katoomba and the nearby blue mountains attractions.

“Cosey, quiet retreat”
Reviewed August 3, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Atelier is ideal for a couple's short break in the Mountains. Walking distance to shops, cafes and dining venues of all descriptions means you don't have to worry about taking the car. A chance for that extra drink over dinner
A very quiet location with lovely gardens - albeit asleep at present. Late Spring would see the garden at its stunning best.
There is plenty of space and the kitchenette was very workable - you don't need to bring a thing other then normal supplies for breakie.
The fire and spa are welcomed luxuries after a long walk through the many trails the Blue Mountains have to offer.
If you have the opportunity - go for the end of the weekend/mid week stay - fewer crowds and no need to book at the nearby eateries.

“Perfect Mountain Retreat!”
Reviewed July 27, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Mike was always responsive, from the booking process to providing detailed instructions and being sure I was able to check in, including being able to store my large suitcase due to early arrival. The Atelier itself is stunning, with soaring ceilings and chic furnishings and everything in place to enjoy cozy evenings. It would be a perfect couple's retreat, with the bathrobes, fireplace and spa tub! The location is perfect, just a few minute walk from the train station and hub of Katoomba. I actually walked to Echo Point from the Atelier.

“Contemporary cottage within walking distance of all Katoomba has to offer”
Reviewed July 11, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

My partner and I recently stayed at Atelier for six days and found it to be the perfect place to rest and relax while taking in all the beautiful sights Katoomba has to offer.

This contemporary cottage is within walking distance to the town centre of Katoomba and its numerous cafes, restaurants and shops (including Woolies, Coles and Big W). Echo Point, Scenic World and Wentworth Falls are also extremely close (5 - 10 minutes by car). Michael (the owner) provided a very thorough list of recommended cafes, restaurants and activities/hikes, which was extremely helpful. We can also highly recommend The Yellow Deli and Thai Square.

The cottage itself is charming and is just as it appears in the photos. It offers a fireplace with a good stock of firewood, a well equipped kitchen (complete with milk, tea, coffee and tim tams!) and a modern bathroom with spa. The cosy bedroom is in the loft of the cottage and provides a glorious early morning view as well as electric blankets which were much appreciated by a couple of Queenslanders not used to the climate, as was the heater which also got a workout. The cottage garden is quaint and the perfect place to sit in a sunny spot with a cuppa.

If you're planning to stay for more than two or three days, the only negative could be its lack of laundry facilities. However, although Michael kindly provided comprehensive details of laundromats located in the town, we managed without and had even more of an excuse to just relax and enjoy a glass of red by the fireplace!

All in all, Katoomba has been on our list of 'must-dos' for a while and we're so glad we were able to enjoy it in the comfort of Atelier.
