“Friendly staff we fell like home.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2014

It was my first time I stayed in a backpack and I loved it, we had a suite room, we got there early in the morning and the staff give us information and tips where we could go, and we also had a breakfast. The room was clean and the decoration is lovely.
I recommend and I would stay again.

This place was such a great find. We had the en suite room. Staff were very warm and helpful with all our needs, even offered information on walking tracks to take based on hostess' personal experience. Overall, very clean (however, we did find a huge creepy centipede but we believe that came from the garden outside). We even saw one of the staff running a blowing steamer though the mattresses for next guests which is really rare for a hostel to do. Breakfast was with toast, mixed jams, cereals. Milk, tea and coffee available unlimited. WiFi available for free(woohoo!). Only downside is Katoomba city centre is a bit of a walk but we came with a car so not a big issue for us.

I kind of did not want to make a review as so to keep this place a secret!

We absolutely LOVED this hostel which was more of a shared accommodation as we discovered, with beautiful rooms and extremely clean cooking and washroom facilities. Our fellow guests were very laid back and keen on exploring the hikes the area had to offer so it was peaceful and quiet. The hostess was very kind and helpful and everything was very organized and often it felt like we were the only ones in the hostel which was welcome to us as we had just recently spent a long week in Kings Cross. Very highly rated, would definitely recommend this spot and will most certainly come back!

Room Tip: Most rooms in the hostel are quiet and clean.. no need to splurge on private rooms, the dorms are lo...

We booked here for two nights and wish we could stay longer. The place is so homely and really chilled atmosphere.

The rooms are a little warm upstairs but there is a fan which was adequate. There is free tea, coffee and cereal which was great for us. Everything is organised so you have space in the fridge for your food etc.

The place is just a short walk from the train station and from the local town.

Would definitely recommended.

I stayed in the hostel for 1 night and used the upstairs room (double private). Common areas, such as kitchen, living room, bathroom and toilets are really clean. My room was really warm during the day and cold at night (probably common in the mountains area). Towels are not provided but I could have a spare one without paying any extra. Milk, cereals and sunscreen are available for free. Place is quiet and full of images and saying that encourage clients to think about nature, religion and society.

My girlfriend and I stayed in one of the upstairs rooms for one night and had a fantastic time. The whole place was extremely clean and tidy, with very nice quirky furniture in the bedroom and common areas. There was cereals, milk and hot drinks provided as well as a good kitchen space if you are planning to stay longer and cook.
I would 100% recommend staying here for a cheap weekend get away from the city.

My Girlfriend and I spent three nights at no 14 to spend some time walking in the blue mountains.

The hostel itself was lovely, we had the double upstairs at the front of the hostel. We had plenty of space in the room we didn't hear any noise from the rest of the hostel.

The kitchen isn't big but it has everything you need and it didn't feel crowded despite a number of us cooking in there at the same time, breakfast being included in the price (as well as wifi) was also a bonus!

There are two common rooms but as the weather was so good we sat outside on the porch in the evening.

The location is also good being only 10 min walk from the station, we easily filled three days of walking one each in Katoomba, Wentworth Falls and Blackheath. The staff at the hostel were really helpful letting us know what were good walks in the area, they even sort you out with some basic maps.

In summary a really good laid back hostel! I'd definitely stay there again!
