This is a well heated oasis, you'll always find friendly travellers around the lounge and there's a stack of info on the walks and local fauna. Free internet and Mandy is very helpful on local info. Kitchen has pots and pans and free brekky.

Room Tip: Little bit of a hike back up to town but this is why you are here right! On the way to Leura too. I...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and really loved it. It is a pleasant 5 - 10 minute walk from the train station and main street in Katoomba. The hostel its self is really clean and reception staff were more then helpful. I would highly recommend this quaint, cosy guesthouse for those travellers wanting a little relaxation from the city life and hectic hostels.

Room Tip: We stayed in a room upstairs which had a beautiful view, but a little annoying if you need to go to...

This is probably my favourite place that we've stayed while travelling - it felt like we were on a romantic weekend away rather than hostelling. The owners are very laid back but also very helpful - they leave you to your own devices when you want to relax in their beautiful and spotlessly clean kitchen and lounge areas in peace but they're always there to help out with walking information. It's a gorgeous old wooden building with beautifully decorated, cosy bedrooms and a lovely shared area with sofas and with all the cooking utensils etc that you need and plenty of space for everyone to cook. You get a breakfast included and free wifi all for $65 for a double bedroom (dorms are cheaper). Given how lovely the rooms are we thought this was great value. It's got a lovely relaxed atmosphere and people tend to congregate at dinner at chat about their day. I would recommend this as THE place to stay if you're venturing into the Blue Mountains.

Room Tip: If you want a romantic double room number 9 had a bay window with little chairs and table - perfect...

this hostel isnt a hostel at all, more a lovely retreat in the amazing blue mountains. the place is as clean as it can possibly be, and the owner is so friendly. the kitchen is great for travellers on a budget as dining out is expensive, even pots, pans, salt, everything is communal. im picky and have not set foot in the other hostels ive been staying in's kitchen but this one i used as happily as i would my own at home. the communal spaces with comfy sofas are great with books and dvds to enjoy. lots of information on the area and the whole of australia for that matter is offered. the bedrooms are a perfect cosy size with cute wood panelling on the walls, ceilings and floors. the adorable paint work of native australian animals makes this place great for getting this aussie feel. i really cant doubt this place. and the blue mountains for that matter is lovely, skip the tour bus and walk to all the spots, thats what me and my boyfriend did and it was our best day in australia so far. another thing to add is the price of this place is so so good, wish i could have stayed here longer. thank you number 14.

A great place to stay in a great location. We stayed at No. 14 based on the recommendation from our friends and we were not disappointed. It's just down the street from the train station and the main street, so a convenient location. My husband and I stayed in the ensuite room for a couple nights and had a great time. We can only say good things. Mandy was extremely nice. Our flight got cancelled and we missed our first night there and she didn't charge us for it, which we greatly appreciated. I wished we could have stayed there longer! The mountains themselves were amazing, and if you're going to visit, No. 14 is a very affordable, very nice place to stay. Highly recommend!!

Such a great base for exploring the Blue Mountains. A gas hearth and comfortable couches in the common area which was warm and welcoming to read by, very spacious and clean kitchen, and warm comfortable beds even in the dorm rooms. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept on in a hostel. Staff was very kind and made great recommendations for good cafes, walks, and ways to reach different parts of the region. Attracts a quiet, kind, respectful crowd of travelers. Feels like coming home at the end of long days of walking and traveling. Great stay!

Mandy, thank you so much for the use of your hostel. Clean, close to town centre, and a real personal feel to the whole place. We stayed for 2 nights in May 2012 and had such a great time we wished we were staying longer.
In the lounge/ dining room there are a whole range of books on walks and maps of the Blue Mountain area.
Everyone we met at No.14 was in a good, relaxed mood and that is because of the feel of the place. A real home from home.Breakfast is included, as is internet and a great "book swap" book case.
From the minute we arrived Mandy was really helpful on information for walks, places to eat, transport, or anything else that you need to know for a trip to the Blue Mountains, you could really just turn up without any preparation and she will show you the way.
Have already recommended "No 14" to others, and will return one day for sure .
