Wonderful trip to the Blue Mountains. Took the early train from Sydney taking around 2 hrs to get there. Get a family ticket to get access to all areas.....cable cars, mountain railways, forest floor, waterfalls and so much more. Take a picnic and eat in the forest....what an experience with so many unheard sounds of wildlife hitherto unknown.

Spend at least one and a half to two days and stay there.
Take the train from Sydney Central Station to Katoomba Station.
Buy the Blue Mountain Hop On Hop Off ticket just out side the train station. Buy the Scenic World ticket together.
Visit Scenic World first and then see the others.
Wear good shoes. There are a lot of walking path options through the woods that are really good.
Get the Blue Mountain Explorer brochure it has all the train time tables.
The Explorer ticket is also a guide book with suggested walking tours.
Most importantly get a good camera with lots of memory card space!

Amazing views of three sisters, the solitary mountain and the blue mountains all a min away from carpark accessible by wheelchair and strollers. If you like to walk down to waterfalls and scenic world, make sure you have enough time (1 hr walk and uphill return track). Walk includes stairs. Dont forget to watch for pink grey galah Australian cockatoos and other colorful parrots. Also apply insect repellent and sunscreen before heading out of your car/bus.

We spent a couple fo days in the area and I recommend that rather than a day trip from Sydney. It is a beautiful area for nature hikes and views. Love this area

Haven’t been here in over 10 years , but I love the blue mountains. The lush landscape, height of the mountains. To be in nature is great.
