recommended by the motel next door, Blue . Food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming and chatty, but did not overdo it. Although they did not sell alcohol on principle, byo was fine, glasses provided and not cover charge.

Step back to the 60's. In fact if you wanted to work here you would need a beard and a ponytail. The ambiance is that of a hobbit house, all the tables and chairs are different but made similar made by artisans.
We had a couple of sandwiches - one rueben and one "build your own". The homemade bread was to die for, the Rueben was probably the best Rueben I have ever had. Just delicious served with some potato chips. We also had their latte and cappuccino.
I would try one of their other places around the world just because I know it would also be fantastic.

Wandered in after a long day of bushwalking and found ourselves in this fascinating cafe with its handmade tables and seating, with lots of cozy nooks and crannies. We were served a real mango smoothie (!), delicious sandwiches, excellent coffee and slices. At that point I had no idea what "common ground" meant and soon discovered that it was a group of people who believes in communal and sustainable living. They produce and bake everything sold at the cafe and it's all fresh and tasty. We went back for nachos the next day and it didn't disappoint.

Really enjoyed the ambiance, decor, and overall feeling of this place. The food was ok, my eggs were rubbery so so next time I would try something different.

The first thing that comes into your mind when walking into this cafe is am I still in Katoomba? Very unique deco and ambience, felt like a hobbit right out of some lord of the rings set. Food was pretty good too, very healthy. Nothing looked fried, all boiled and grilled and greens, yet tasty.
