Cosy restaurant, very good service. Food well prepared (Goat cheese and caramelised onio tart, rabbit stew, creme brulee) thoroughly enjoyed it and reasonably priced. If I have the chance to visit the blue mountians again I will definitely go back here.

My husband and i with our small daughter visited the blue moutains for the first time, after looking for dinning options and finding many cafe style restuarants we noticed the rosewood cottage and may i say WOW it was exactly what we were looking for in our " mountains getaway " the restaurant was incredible with open fire and cosey homely feeling, the food def brought back hearty food memories something that is hard to find my mouth is watering at the thought of the slow cooked rabbit we will be coming back and telling our friends thank you to the lady out the front who served us you were so kind and our daughter was impressed with her dessert !!!

Absolutely spectacular!!! Me and my boyfriend both had the 4 shell scallop mornay and I can tell you it was nothing short of spectacular. and the rabbit for the main is highly recomended .everyone was friendly, and the service was so warm. Everything was precise, with the timing of the meals was also excellent .
a must to visit while staying in the mountains.

We booked and stayed at the adjacent Best Western Motel for two nights because of writeups of the Rosewood Cottage restaurant - arriving late afternoon after a long drive from the mid north coast. The motel arranges discounts and charge backs to rooms if required.
We went down to the restaurant which is a lovely converted cottage, with wood fires burning and period decoration. The restaurant manager greeted us and set us up with a nice table near a fire - we were early and the restaurant had only 1 other table occupied - only one other table came in while we were there over a 1 hour period.
The restaurant manager advised that he had only taken over the restaurant in the last week - the motel management didn't mention that. The restaurant manager serviced our table personally.
Unfortunately, the available wine selection was limited and not to our liking (no sauv blanc, cask wine offered and a selected reisling quite sour) - hadn't been able to be organised since takeover. Beer was OK.
A complimentary garlic bread was basic sliced breadstick with garlic butter applied and heated.
Menu items were very basic and working to an apparently old menu displayed at the motel.
We chose a YumCha entre to share but were disappointed with the offering which was deep fried rather than expected steamed and looked like the ingredients may have been frozen rather than fresh.
We chose simple steak dishes - a tee bone and scotch fillet (on menu with a cream pepper sauce but agreed to be ordered without). Again we were disappointed, with the scotch fillet presented smothered with sauce which had to be scraped off and both well done rather than medium / medium rare as ordered and of a quality one might have expected as an old fashioned cheap counter lunch rather than restaurant meal. Vegetables appeared to be frozen style. Except that we were tired, we would have sent the scotch fillet back, but just wanted to go back to our room.
We didn't order deserts.
The restaurant did not have eftpos facility at the time.
I hope for the sake of his new business that the new restaurant manager can get his act together. The motel requires the restaurant to perform as well. We stayed our two nights but ate elsewhere in Katoomba the second night and booked and stayed at another hotel with better facilities and restaurant for a third night in Katoomba.
