The number of steps on this route will be murderous for all but the fittest of walkers. A much better route, which is good for the average walker would be to take the cable car and mountain railway at Scenic World (avoid the rest of the 'attractions' there) and then leave the man-made park and head down the Federal Pass through the national park to Leura cascades. You'll need lunch and plenty of water and if you're feeling very energetic, you can backtrack along the cliff path from the cascades (a tough-ish climb up) to Echo Point and the Three Sisters. If that 3km backtrack is too much, follow the signs from the cascades car park to Leura station through the park (roughly 1km and less, but some climbing) and get some afternoon tea in beautiful Leura before taking a taxi to Echo Point, which will cost around $10 rather than $25 per person for the trolley tourist bus.
