Echoes is the place to go for an awesome valley view while you eat lunch in the Blue Mountains. The day we ate there was very windy outside and we felt cosy and warm as we took in the amazing vista outside.
Yes, the view is to die for and you just can't get enough of it. The management certainly place a high price on it too. The menu was overpriced, the drinks were likewise! When you pay a lot more for something you expect quite a lot in return. Sadly you pay top dollar here for a half cold beer (just sit it outside and it would be colder). The food was good, but not great. Once again I say, the view is awesome. The service, while adequate was nothing special. I think this restaurant is letting itself down. With so much going for it in location, why not capitalise, and make it the only place to go, rather than the place to go only once to have a look.

Lovely setting and staff were friendly and efficient. However, at $85 for two courses ( minimum) you expect a much more. Shared entree of soft shell crab was nice, but both mains ( duck and pork fillet) were tough. The chocolate fondant wasn't....i.e. it didn't have the soft, gooey centre you expect from a fondant in a restaurant as pricey as this. Underwhelmed!

We enjoyed our lunch today at Echoes, the views are breathtaking and magnificent.
The food was tasty, hot and enjoyable.
The dining room was enticing, clean, warm on a very cold day in Katoomba; so very welcoming.
Service was good as they do have plenty of staff available to assist, but I couldn't help noticing that a large group nearby never had their wine glasses topped u,p instead one of the patrons hopped up and topped everyone's glasses up, I was a little dismayed at this as there were plenty of staff on hand to do this.
The only complaint I have is the water glasses that this restaurant uses, they are french branded but they are all scratched due to the constant use in a dishwasher. I think they are past their use by date and Echoes should replace these with new glasses.
Overall lovely but a little pricey.
