My wife and I spent a ski weekend here, the rooms are well equipped with everything you could need, eg. Washing machine, stove, oven etc. if you were staying for a week or as a larger group. The views over the lake from most of the rooms are fantastic. The price is pretty high, however there are not a lot of options available around Jindabyne. The breakfast was sufficient, nothing amazing, but good to fill up for a day of skiing. Overall we were satisfied, would probably go back as a group or for longer, but skiing in Australia is just so expensive.

We have stayed at the hotel every year for the past three years when we go to Perisher. In previous years it has been a good enough compromise between affordability/comfort/service, where we would walk away from our time satisfied, but not wow'd in any way.
That has changed this year - significantly for the better! What we noticed most was the interactions we had with staff. It was always a pleasure to deal with any of the staff, whether at the bar, reception or bistro. Almost a haven of service within Jindabyne, where you are typically treated with disdain from a transient (young) workforce of ski-bums - here every staff member we dealt with was genuinely pleasant and it didnt feel like an imposition to request something.
The bistro has been significantly improved, where the quality of the food is substantially better than in past years. While the process of ordering could do with some refinement (no table service) the overall quality of the food (for the price) makes it an excellent choice for reasonably priced dining in Jindabyne,
The restaurant has not changed, and still provides top quality food and service (IMHO it is the best restaurant in Jindy)
The rooms themselves are good, when you consider the price. a little dated, but we dont really go to Jindy for to stay in an uber suite do we?

Good, Clean and the breakfast is fantastic !!
Would really appreciate if they can improve their check-in - time slot. it is too inconvenient for a single night booking. 16:00 hrs is too late.

This resort suited us absolutely perfectly for our ski holiday. The 2 bedroom apartment was just right for our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The apartment is spread over 2 levels and gave us all enough space with the spacious main bedroom and ensuite on the top floor having its own terrace with lovely views of the lake. Breakfast was included in our rate and was absolutely fine - despite some negative reports on this website we found plenty of choice with cereals, yoghurt, fruit and hot food - a more than adequate skiers breakfast! The resort is very close to Nugget's Crossing shops - an easy walk - and there is a big supermarket, bottle shop and several cafes. There is a Perisher office where skiers can buy all their lift passes etc which is very convenient. We drove to Bullock's flat and caught the ski tube to Perisher which worked fine. Overall, Horizons Resort provided us with a very comfortable base for our skinweek and we would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom apartments with lake view were fantastic.

We were here for the snow skiing and had a family week down at Jindabyne so felt this resort was a good option for us.

We read numerous reports about this venue and there were a few people complained about the breakfast. They were wrong.

For all our breakfasts (we had 6 of them), we were pleasantly surprised how good and well stocked it was. It had cereals, fruit, fruit juices, breads pastries, muesli and a good range of hot food such as pancakes, grilled tomatoes, sausages, mushrooms, bacon, hash browns and the scrambled eggs which were fine.

The trays and wide array of food were always topped up so rarely you were out of food which at worst was topped up in only a few minutes.

You could have tea and coffee (filtered) or if you wanted a good coffee, could order a professionally prepared barista coffee any way you wanted it (for an additional charge which was more than reasonable).

It is certainly not a Marriott breakfast but is more than suitable as a nice quality breakfast bar from this establishment.

The rooms were nice. It appeared that these were independently owned yet managed by the resort so I would imagine the rooms would vary from room to room so may not all be consistent in their display. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 500 series which faced west towards the snowy mountain ranges.

See photos.

The meals in the main bistro were pleasant and more like bistro rather than fine dining but more than suitable given the décor and style.

We had a young family and with all their various eating requirements, all were satisfied. I liked it that they had paper tablecloths on the tables and the staff gave the kids pencils to draw on them.

We did not eat in the fine dining restaurant so could not comment on this.

The pool was nice and warm and there were some well maintained games areas for the kids.

The service was good from waiters as well as the reception. Not perfect but not the worst I have experienced either. Reasonable and acceptable would be my comment.

A great family venue. We’d come back in Winter for sure and might even try it as a summer trip away.

First trip to the Snowy Mountains and was very disappointed! First room was unlivable (rolled out the divan for the boys to find it still had the bedding from the last family on it and was full of half eaten kids biscuits!) Room was directly from the 60's and bedding was stained and dirty. Wonderful receptionist (Gerry) gave us a new room which was better, bit still not clean. Moved divan to make it and hadn't been vacuumed underneath at all (food lurking again!). All the cleaners we saw looked like they had secured their cleaning jobs in their school holidays!!! Kitchen really badly stocked and asking for additional glasses etc from kitchen staff met with grunts or the third degree. Dinner in the bistro was a shocker...breakfast just passable. After four days of the same breakfast, I asked for some poached eggs to be told they were understaffed and I couldn't have any. On the last night, decided to get pizza and have it with the boys in the "family lounge" near a fireplace to be told by a very rude staffer that we couldn't eat or drink a bottle of wine there due to a liquor license rule. Fine, but explain it with a little class!!
The whole place just seems tired with staff who act as if they don't really want to be there or are just apologising for where they work! Our recommendation would be to view the rooms first as they are nothing like what is on the net ( or at least the two we saw weren't) and eat elsewhere. All this for 4 days and $2000! Won't be back...won't be recommending it.

Have stayed here a few times this Winter so far, and I am impressed with the service and quality of the rooms for the price paid. The living areas of both the sudio and deluxe rooms were renovated a few years ago and are clean and modern. Flat screen TV's and good heating. Maintenance is a little lacking with light globes not working in both rooms though. The bathrooms were not renovated and are a little old, but are still very clean and nothing to complain about. If you can get a room during Winter, I highly recommend here. Breakfast is usually included in the room rate, and for a country buffet it is more than adequate. A good choice of cereal (coco pops for the kids) with eggs, bacon, sausage, hash brown and some fruit and danish. The juices are a little "cheap tasting" but this is a country hotel not a 5 star city hotel.
