“Cleaner than our own place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

It was one of the very few places my wife did not complain about its cleaningness (she did complain about the cobweb outside though.) The cabin (#48) seems newly refurbished with new fridge, microwave oven, linen, bathroom stuff, paint, etc. Good queen-size bed in the main bedroom and 3 bunks with 2 upper (my 10yo son loved it). We stayed up in Crackenback Novotel before and that was good in Winter. For Summer, this place proved to be much more convenient: drive up to Thredbo or left to Jindabyne shop or the lake nearby (walking or cycling in the afternoon a must).

The queen bed was very comfortable - I might be too tired after all day walking and slept like a log ... anyway :) My wife would like a TV set in the bedrooom also. The aircon in the kitchen/lounge room was fine though I doubt if it would warm the two bedrooms up in Winter.

A nice clean bbq outside the unit ... so convenient.

Kids stay free and we are happy to stay there again next time.

Room Tip: Cabin #48 is surrounded by 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 49 and a few others. If you would like to be away fro...

If you're after a reasonably priced accommodation as a base to go skiing during winter and not fussed too much, then this place is fine. Don't expect much, its very basic. Atleast you get your own little parking spot. For two people the size of the cabin is fine, but if there was more you'd be a little cramped.

The heater takes AWHILE to heat up, and the floors are not carpeted so you'll be cold. Bring slippers, for your own sake. The shower is totally useless. There is no pressure and you'll find yourself freezing for the whole event, which is awesome in winter -.-. The beds aren't that bad, not quite that comfortable either.

If you are on a budget, this would be fine (if you book early enough) but if you willing to spend more, there are more comfortable places to stay.

Room Tip: Book early, cabins get pricier the later you leave it.

Four of us spent a weekend there for the snow and paid about $600 which is not too bad considering the high season or the sky high price of other accommodation right next to the skiing firld. The motel is in the middle of Jindabyne and only 1hr drive to perisher. Our cabin is pretty old but clean. There s electric blanket for the main bed but not the bunk beds. The air con is so old it took ages to heat up the cabin. It should be better if they can install a proper heating system. The kitchen is quite equipped, we can easily prepare breakfast ourselves to save a few bucks. Remember to bring your own towel if you plan to stay more than 2 days as they might not provide room service. Overall, it's cost saving if you go with a group of friends and only require basic accommodation.

My family and I stayed in a cabin for three nights in early October. We chose this place because of it's central location and because it would be easy for us to go to either Perisher or Thredbo with our two young children. We chose what looked like a very nice comfortable cabin but sadly we were seriously disappointed when we were faced with it on arrival.

The cabin was TINY! The beds were uncomfortable but the worst aspect was the sofa - the springs were broken, the seat part just totally sank to the floor. We brought this to the attention of the people on reception but were told that we couldn't be moved because they were supposedly full up. When we asked if they could at least replace the sofa, we were dismissed with a very blunt "no". We had no choice but to put up with it as we had promised this holiday for our children. If they were booked out then anywhere else would be as well so we stayed. But we vowed never again.

Apparently as Big 4 members we were entitled to fuel discounts if we filled up at the petrol station on site. But when we asked, we got told that there was no discount. We filled up elsewhere.

Don't be fooled into thinking that this place is good because it's a Big 4 or because it's won some tourism awards. Each time I read about them winning something, I seriously wonder how. This place really gives the Big 4 brand a bad name.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else.

We booked a deluxe cabin (as a group of 5) and couldn't have been happier. Close to the ski fields, great value, helpful and unobtrusive service, good heating in the cabin, electric blanket on the main bed.

The negatives would have been that there weren't as many spare blankets as there were beds (but we had brought some of our own, so no problem), and that the chemical toilet had a distinctive odour, but that's not really something they could do anything about. You don't notice it after a little while anyway.

I would absolutely stay here again. Very happy. Thanks Discovery Holiday Parks!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Deluxe Cabin and it was ace!

The hotel has a great location and excellent facilities. The price is good comparing with the prices at that city. HOWEVER, the bed was not queen. It may be double and it was the worst bed I slept on. I could not sleep well for the two nights I was there. The room was clean but not that much and the kitchen tools (knifes, forks and spoons) were not clean.

Room Tip: There are a lake view.

We stayed for one night in autumn - a quick getaway. We had a deluxe cabin, it was clean and well equipped, bed comfy enough, the beautiful outlook over the lake and autumnal leaves was the best bit. A good value stay (NB we didn't stay in the winter peak season!) in a lovely park.
